Thanks Jenn! I have been keeping the Yarrow in a morning sun/afternoon shade location. Even my mom commented on how poor they looked. _________________

Yes he is!!! lol Got everything planted today except those poor Ann Magnolias and she helped me finish off the edging along the back fence which I've been waiting MONTHS for my hubby to help me finish! I need to get rid of the hubby and keep my mom. It's threatening to rain (oh I HOPE it does!) so I'll have to wait to get pics...soon though! _________________ |

I just did some cutting back on the 7 Yarrow that I bought for the NC house, came inside and washed my hands. Then I noticed a smell. Stopped to smell my hands and they smell wonderful! It's definitely from handling the Yarrow but I didn't smell it when working with the plants but my goodness my hands smell absolutely fantastic now. Who knew?! _________________

I think I'm gonna try to find some purple flox to fill in the rest of my lower retaining wall! Then I should be done - whew! Hopefully everything will fill in later this year and/or next year. (did you see my gardening thread? I finally started one! ) _________________

I've been slacking on the updates lately, so here's one for you. I've made a few changes and replaced a few flowers over the past few weeks. Won't go into much detail. One of my Stargazer Lilies bloomed last week but I kept forgetting to snap a pic. The flower in the center of this pot is new, I have no idea what it is! My hydrangea is blooming with another flowering head in the works... One of ferns is starting to take off, can't remember which one this was though... I did have to replace all the flowers that were in my flower cart on the front porch. I took them out of the flower cart before we left for our last vacation so that they would get watered by the sprinklers while we were away. All the flowers were thriving the day we left but when we returned they were all dead. So I had to buy all new flowers and restart the potted flower cart... In one pot I planted two different Calibrachoa plants, different colors. Close up of one: Close up of the other: In the long pots I put in three different colored petunias... First, a lighter purple: Second, a darker purple: Third, a red: Here's how my flower cart looks now... Looks no where near as good as it used to but hopefully all this new stuff will take off and fill in fast. _________________

Val, still looks good. my pansies in my handing basket are more then half dead the ones on the porch still look good and i think i have spotted 2 ferns coming up in my shade garden that i planted bulbs in march. I want a hydrangea. thats the one thing that sucks about vacation and plants you really need someone coming over to check on them. _________________

Yeah, normally I have either of my neighbors check on things or put them in the backyard where it's shady most of the day. This time I couldn't do either since it was a holiday and my neighbors were also out of town and my shady spots in the yard were taken by plants that I had picked up for my MIL. It stinks, they looked so good too...oh well, starting over! _________________
