| Hey everyone... Happy Holidays! Here in Central Texas we are sitting at 21 degrees @ 1pm. Our new addition Ella (the husky) will not come inside, she is really enjoying this cold weather. Our other dog Zoe (the mix) will follow her all around the house until Ella hits the doggie door then turns around like "peace! no thank you I'll see when you come back in!" LOL Even at its coldest last night she would have rather slept outside in the middle of the yard. Silly dog! I'd like to hear some cold weather adventures of your fur babies. |

| It is currently -3F here with a windchill making it feel like -24. My 5 month old husky was racing laps around my yard this morning and then tried to dig a hole into the frozen dirt under a foot of snow -she failed at that one. I think she would like it out there more if we could actually stand to be out there for more than a minute though. We are so people oriented that even with the fun snow and lots of toys she would rather be with us. Yesterday it was even colder out too. My other dog is a 7# terrier and she runs out does her business and wants back in right away or else she is limping from frozen feet. Kiba the husky will curl up with her cow hoof out there for quite a while though. |

| We had a high of 14 yesterday and Kenzi made me get out in it. My other dog had no desire to go out. Though according to my husband he threw a fit and cried when he saw me outside walking her and letting her "hunt" in the woods behind us when it was super cold without him. _________________ |

| Yeh, tell me! I still don't have any water in the house and I hope it's just that I've got an ice block somewhere and not a busted pipe! I've spent altogether too much time under this trailer and stuff still freezes.
I've turned off my house pump - don't want to burn it up - but have kicked it on a couple of times, hoping for running water. As the Brits say "No joy!" the pump spins for a second and then stops which suggest I've got a block just beyond the pump - which is good since it's easy to get to.
My pups, they may be cold weather dogs but they want nothing to do with this cold (heading back down from our high of 40° today). They go out, do whatever and want right back in ... Avalanche sunbathed for a while when it was warmest but none are impressed with much time outside. I guess we all get used to the "warm" weather (quotes since my idea of "warm" is considered HOT to most of you all.) _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| A few weeks ago, when it started getting colder, both Kohdi and Mishka would go out, and come right back in, LOL...now though, and it's been in the 30's at night/morning, Kohdi goes out and doesn't wanna come back in, Mishka on the other hand, goes out, and goes right back in, finds the warmest fluffiest blanket (on my bed, haha) and buries herself in it. On the walks, they are both fine, I, on the other hand, am freezing my butt off. |
