I was looking for a pic already on servimage to show a very light red.  Ran across this - many of you know Ami as he is today.  Here he was when we rescued him:




Now you know why I had no clue he was a wooly! Imagine my consternation as his coat grew...and grew...and grew

Awww...thanks, guys. I have to agree. And has the personality to match (though I might not have said that 2 nights ago when he had the come play with me zoomies at 3 AM!!!)

Ah Amy, you have done wonders for that beautiful boy! It's amazing what a good diet and a loving home does for a beautiful coat like Ami. Happy belated birthday Ami!

Thanks, guys! Knowing what I know now - including that there IS such a thing as a wooly husky, the tip off would have been the tufting in the ears and behind. I'm glad I didn't know - I would have passed, mostly because of the coat upkeep but also because I wanted a Siberian Husky that met standard. And since this was such an impulsive acquisition where all the stars aligned and Wayne actually agreed, I think it is possibly the only way I would ever have any dog.
