Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| Time for a question. With three dogs I'm having problems keeping track of who needs what, what food / drugs they're on for how long, etc.
I've found one program (SafeDog) that does some of what I'd like to see but it's a real loose collection of data.
Do you use such a program; would you recommend one and if so what?
Since I'd like to do some more traveling, I'd like something that would draw from DropBox (or similar) and could be used on my tower / laptop or tablet.

| I just write everything on the calendar. Usually do a full month schedule and as I do the task I mark off the day/task. My aunt has a calendar and a daily pill container she fills for the dog. _________________ |

That's what I do to remind me...figure out the schedule in advance, write in the date box on the calendar and then annotate with date they actually got stuff. Then, at the end of the year, it all goes in Excel with columns for worming, flea/tick stuff, heartworm stuff, vaccines and "other" |

| If you have a gmail account, google docs has something similar to excel you could use to organize and access from anywhere! We don't use it for our dogs but we use it for other things and we like it a lot. |

| I just use an old fashioned planner. I have to keep up with three kids, two dogs, and two cats. Plus, I have to keep up with my school stuff. I just prefer to have it all in one place so I can make sure nothing overlaps. |

| Well, I had to go satisfy my curiosity and found: << Company Name >> | << Price >> | << Comment >> | Paw Planner | 29.95 | Pretty Simplistic | Safe Dog 8.0 | 29.95 | Out of business | Smart Pet Health | 149.95 | Shelters & Kennels | Paw Loyalty | none listed | Online Dog Care Professional | My Dogs History | free | Very Simplisticl | How's My Pet | 14.95 | One page WorPress Site/No download/No contact | Pet Centric | none listed | Purina Dog Care/Not found on the web site | Pet Master | none listed | Offline | Pet Master | none listed | Offline | My Pet ED | none listed | Offline | Pet Buddy | none listed | Offline | ePetHealth | none listed | Offline |
I find two things really interesting: The number of people who have tried to write a 'Pet Care & History' program and the number who have failed. The absolute simplicity (and that's not a good thing) of the existing programs. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |
