Dear members
Im new to this forum and im am also a new husky puppy owner.
Its female and 4 months old.
I got her yesterday (June 2nd) and i know its too soon to teach her how to sleep on her own in my yard at night but im a bit overwelmed by the information i read online (for puppies and for husky puppies) and i believe im not dealing it correctly.

My intention is to have her unleashed during the day in my yard and restrain her, leashed, when iam not at home or when its night for sleep.
The moment i restrain her , she starts crying.

Tried it the first night and failed miserably.
Second time was today during daytime (June 3rd) and even though she cried , she eventually stopped and went to nap under a cozy shady corner with pillows at the yard.
Third time was actually tonight, she started crying loudly and i got a bit worried for my neighbours. So right now its midnight and she's in my room sleeping like an angel.

What should i do to make her feel comfortable leashed when iam absent? Even though its almost our 3rd day together she gets a bit nervous when she sees me go away, even for short distances.
I feel im wrong by having her sleep in my room, since im endorsing in her cry-threats but crying loud passed midnight is something that'll put me and my doggy in troubles.
So how can i deal with it? Any ideas?

Another thing is that im taking her for walk outside , mostly for poop and peepee but she does that at home once we get. How do I fix that?

Thank you in advance
Off to sleep because i have the feeling that my sleep will be again short!

There's nothing wrong with letting her sleep in your room. It is safer for her and makes her more easily accessible for potty breaks. Our dogs love being with us and that's where they belong. If you are afraid she will get into something then look into crate training. At 4 months she will need to go out every 3-4 hours. Set her a routine and stick with it. Also take her out after she eats and heavy play. Is there any real NEED for her to be able to be outside alone all the time? Huskies are notorious for separation anxiety, escaping, and destructive behavior when alone a lot. They are also at a high risk of being stolen if left out unattended.

Fillipos, I'm going to say many of the same things Jenn (@twisterII) did, but a bit differently.

Siberian Husky's were bred for, at least, hundreds of years as sledding dogs.  They also lived in familia.  So they were and are generally excellent working and family dogs.  Since they lived inside with the family they were the 'heating pads' for the kids (and I'd presume the adults) on those long, cold arctic nights.  Because of their heritage, Sibes want to be with their pack - and for most of the them, their pack is their human pack - in this case you.

At four months, your pup is still just a puppy and - more than an adult - they have a very real need to be with their pack.  As Jenn says a Husky left alone is very apt to develop separation anxiety - and then you'll have a very big problem with your neighbors.  One of my Husky's got loose and some good people found her and restrained her until I could come get her - I didn't need the phone call from them to tell me where she was, as soon as she was restrained away from me I was able to hear her - almost 2 miles away in a residential neighbor - Husky's can be loud!

If you must leave here alone - and I presume you have to work.  Teaching her to accept a crate will simplify life a lot for you.

My penultimate comment - today's Sibes are generally not outside dogs; they make miserable watch dogs because they're too friendly; they're apt to be stolen if someone knows they're there and left alone; lastly, they are Houdini's, given any way to escape, they will.

And my last comment, you don't say when you acquired her.  A note of that and why the previous owners let you have her would probably be helpful to us so we can help you.

thank you for your reply.
I took her in last night. I didnt want her to get separation anxiety. But at 5am i left her outside unleashed and totally alone with no problem at all. She found a cozy place to sleep outside our main entrance door where she sees us come and go and probably felt our presence. My initial spot was a bit isolated.

Unfortunately she continues NOT to poop or pee when i frequently take her out. She does it in the house.

I got her almost 3 days ago Smile from someone whose female husky had given birth
