Is that an inflatable? They don't put holes in the pool with their nails? Mya seems hesitant to get in the pool without the hose.
I want to get an kiddie pool for our dogs for the first time this summer. I'm planning to pick up those hard plastic ones once they get them in stores for the summer season. I drive a CRV (mini SUV) and I wonder if the large plastic ones will fit in my car. Has anyone transported those in their car and what size car did they fit in?

Yep, it's inflatable, but only the sides. The bottom is pretty thick so haven't had any issues with their nails. We got it last summer and Mya had so much fun that the second it was 80degrees we filled it up! It cost $10 at Target! I saw it again a few weeks ago actually.
I wanted the plastic also, but this one is much easier to store. Only thing is that it's a pain to blow it up. I took turns with the hubby and we had it done in 5min.
She's obsessed with the hose! She even sticks her head under water to try and get it..LOL.

Kody wasn't a big fan of the pool or the hose either! =(

Aww, now I wonder if mine will like having a pool. He doesn't like the hose and hates baths but he loves rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, and puddles. My chi girls are not fans of ANY water so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't like it.
Jenn, you wouldn't happen to know how much bigger the cargo area of the Element is compared to the CR-V would you? I'm pretty sure the Element is a bit larger. We want to get a Pilot in 2012 but that's too far out.

I fit one in the trunk of my civic (sedan, not hatch). Totally do-able in a CRV
Then again, I'm ridiculous with my civic. :p

Val, I'd say try it. Mya wasn't to happy with it at first, but when she realized that she could catch the hose...she was loving it. Spent hours out there last summer! and Kody, well, I think he might have been feeling bad due to the sock issue and that's why he wanted nothing to do with it.

Well then, I guess I'll plan on trying it out once the stores here start carrying them. Won't know till we try! Fingers crossed it'll fit in my car, maybe they just look bigger in the store.

Yep, can't hurt to try. If doesn't fit in your car maybe you can tie to the roof? How far is the drive to where you'd be buying it?

My hubby has a roof rack on his car so if we did the roof thing it'd have to be his car. Closest Walmart is 8 miles away, Toys R Us is even further. I've not seen the plastic kiddie pools at Walmart before but since Jenn mentioned it I will have to check them out. I wonder if you can order those things online? That would eliminate any worry right there!
OMG I am so happy for the warmer weather. I love the cold mind you, but it's been absolute bliss here in the Charleston area. Temps in the low 70's and lots of sunshine. It's so nice outside that even I am having a hard time coming back inside. I'm constantly looking for outdoor projects just to have an excuse to be outside. I set up Dakota's sandbox in the back yard yesterday (I'll post pics soon), for the first time since November I actually broke a sweat!
And what almost brings me to tears is seeing new green grass coming out in the yard. Every day our grass gets greener and greener with the new spring growth, we've actually got the greenest grass in our neighborhood so far. Who knew green grass was such a pick me up?! In Florida and Washington state our grass was green most, if not all, of the year so this endless brown in SC is such a downer. I'm not looking forward to summer but I'm loving the weather right now!

Walmart usually has them OUTSIDE the store, which is why they can be easy to miss

Ohhh, you mean in the garden section or just somewhere outside in the front of the store? I'm always at Walmart, I can't believe I'm so blind! Does Walmart carry the two different sizes? I know Toys R Us carries a small on and a big one...what size does Walmart have?

Uhm... here's a video:
I think that's about 4' across? Koda is a LONG husky. It was about $10 or so. And the one I went to had them outside the front of the store between the door and the garden section, but I think some carry them in the garden section. Just ask

Cute! Love Koda!
I'll have to check at Walmart next time I go, hopefully they'll have them in already...or soon if they don't.

Very fun videos!! Makes me want to get a kiddie pool too! However, when Ginger comes across puddles, she'll walk around them if they're small or will walk very carefully through them as if not to splash. And whenever there is a kiddie pool around, she'll run up to it, then walk carefully through the pool, then run again when she gets out the other side. However, she LOVES rivers and streams!
