| Whether it's the scent (if they haven't been washed yet), shape, size or texture...Red has this obsession with socks. When it's super cold, I tend to wear socks to bed and leave them on my bed when I change. If it's in her reach, I almost always find one missing. When I go to investigate, she's in her little safe haven of a crate slobbering all over my sock. She immediately stops and stares at me (I'm reminded of One Republic's song ) because she knows she shouldn't have taken it. Of course she doesn't even try to stop me when I take my sock back. Her innocent look is so deceiving! I forgot a pair of socks in the living room last night and I was in the other room. After a few minutes, I wondered why Red wasn't by my side because she's almost always attached to me by the hip (I can't even shower or use the bathroom without her trying to bust in). So I go out to see what naughty crime she committed and find that she's all snuggled on the couch with one of my socks sitting between her two paws. Again I get "the look" as I take it from her. "What ma??? Someone else planted the sock near me."The only saving grace is thay she hasn't tried to put a hole in the socks or swallowed any but this girl chooses the stinkiest obession! She also LOVES to lick feet! So what does eveyone's furry bandit/thief often steal from you? BTW, Red is watching another version the Jungle Book as I type and they're featuring a pack of Siberian Huskies as wolves. and Red is whining at the tv. |

| Lol I think I prefer that they like the socks over mail then cause we'd be the ones in deep doo doo if they eat the mail and it turns out to be a bill |

| Miya is a paper freak too, paper towel rolls, paper bags. Sofie is the sock puppy.
Amanda....Sofie loves to lick my feet, ewwww, and both Sofie and Miya lick my husbands face and head (he shaves to baldness)...from what I have read, licking of face and head is for salt, licking of feet and hands are to get the news of the world, and also with the feet it says I love you...but, here is an interesting tid bit I found...
From house my dog dot com
One of the main reasons a dog will lick a persons feet is to indicate their submissiveness to their master. More importantly it indicates their happiness in this role. By displaying this act of domesticity and submission, the dog may ensure its place in the family by accepting the social order of the home.
I am not big on dominance theory, but it does explain Sofie, she is submissive to my husband, me and Miya, she fully understands she is number 4 of the pack. |

| Renee, that's an interesting tid bit on the feet licking. I always thought they were looking for salt. My husband also shaves the sides of his head bald and gets plenty of licks there also. Red is definately submissive (most of the time). Last night, we went into the kitchen after she went potty and I told her to lay down. This has been our routine since her second flare up with the skin infection. At the beginning, she'd fight me when I started wiping her down after potty. But last night, for the first time ever, she automatically lifted her leg for me as soon as she laid down. It's like she was expecting to be wiped and knew she couldn't get out of that. Submissive?
With Miya you could probably get away with saying the dog ate your homework! |

| Ahhhh, they learn so well don't they. As cute as puppies are,, I think I am done with puppies and rather have year olds, they are just slightly more calm, and will accept us doing what we have to do, nice that Red is getting better with the cleaning. Sofie is getting better about cleaning herself with her pee walks, slowly but surely, haha.
Yea Miya and paper, haha, apparently paper will break down in Miya's tummy. My husband threw a paper ball, she was about Red's age, and I went to pick it up, not having it mommy, swallowed it, ugh, it was big, I was frantic, and about 3 days later it was out of her system. now she just shreds paper and spits it out, lol. I think she likes the ripping sounds. |

| Haha "pee walks", that's great! I think that should officially be a term in the dictionary. Wish Red would take after Sofie cause I think she will forever pee walk.
Wow! It took 3 days for the paper to pass? Was it coated paper like the ones they have for coupons in newspaper fliers? I wonder if Miya also just likes how paper feels in her mouth. I've not had Red eat any paper but I do find her own fur in her poop sometimes. I don't understand how it even feels OK with her having a single hair on her tongue. |

| Amanda, Sofie still pee walks, but she is getting better at cleaning herself, today she is filthy, yesterday clean, haha. Puppies, Miya looks at her, sniffs her and then gives that side glance of disgust, and Sofie looks at Miya like whaaaaa I am too busy to clean myself today, you don't like clean me, maaaaaaa, Miya is picking on me. Oh yes this is a daily event. I call Sofie Pig Pen from the peanuts Comics, and Miya is totally part cat, because she cleans all the time, watched her groom her nails even, lol. The paper Miya ate, was just plain paper, luckily, she chews it like bubble gum, lol. Haha, maybe Red is part cat too, lol, since they lick their fur so much. Or maybe Red sees her hair as extra fiber, lmao. Miya also licks blankets, and I mean licks and licks, just blankets, prefers cotton. |

| Kohdi and Mishka both steal socks. Once they do, I can never wear them again, they play tug of war with them. If they don't tear them, they end up being so long they almost reach my knees! |

| As I'm vegging out for the night on the couch, I turn my head to look at Red and there she is with my socks again! What the h......?! She's been super bad with the socks today. Earlier I was moving some things around in my closet and I didn't even know she snatched a pair of my socks till I saw her trying to hide them on the couch. @Jimmy, you're gonna need to ask for a lifetime supply of socks for birthdays, Christmas...etc lol or change your style to commemorate Pippi Longstocking! @Renee, that's so cute with the nail grooming! She's just giving herself a mani and pedi. I don't get the licking of fibers either. I had a pair of fuzzy socks with these mini stuffed owls attached at the cuffs. Each owl had a little tuft of fake hair sewn on their heads. When Red snatched those, she would only lick that tuft of hair over and over. @Mark, I think it's the scent left behind on the clothing. I've been told that if your puppy has anxiety when you leave them, then you should leave an article of your clothing with them that has been worn and not yet cleaned. Not really sure how well that works though. Zhukov looks like a heartbreaker! Lol so handsome. Your comment made me laugh! |

| Jinx steals outside chair cushions. We have an assortment in the garage for different occasions. She'll take the ones she wants drag them to the backyard in the sun and take naps on them.
Alucard doesn't exactly steal these, but he has an obsession with snails. He'll find them in weird places and line them up in front of the kitchen door. No idea how he does it, but every few days they'll be a few snails slowly crawling away while he lies there watching them. I can tell by their slime trails that he lines them up almost perfectly straight! |

| Oh my goodness what are we going to do with our pups! Mylo, like Reddy Red, has some kind of obsession with socks..but there's a catch. He doesn't care for my socks…he goes bananas with my gf's socks. By bananas I mean he has eaten a sock of hers in the past When she's putting socks on, there is Mylo wanting a tasty sock snack. Also her niece's socks. We didn't let him eat them of course, we were too late to save the sock. His first sock snack was from my gf, which he had gotten from the bed and ran off with it. The 2nd time her niece took off her socks and left them in the shoes….Mylo snatched one up. The 3rd time and hopefully the last (last month) it was once again the damn niece's sock. Thankfully these have been little socks and has puked up every sock within 3 to 4 days. |

| My skye has weird tendencies. She will only chew napkins if they're within her reach. She won't counter surf or climb on tables so has to be on a night stand or something in her reach. She won't touch paper towels or toilet paper, only napkins lol.
She also has a weird obsession with burying socks... She will gather socks and bury them into couch cushions or gaps in the couch no clue why! I've even caught her bring a sock outside and burying them in the ground lol |

| @Emma, I think your pups win the most peculiar obsession/habits so far! Jinx is just showing you that she needs comfort as well LOL "these humans think they're the only ones who needs a soft cushion for their bum as they relax". Haha and Alucard? I think there might be some OCD there!!! Thay is so funny, I cannot believe he lines up snails! Maybe he is running a snail racing contest? @David, maybe your socks are not smelly enough to attract Mylo! Hehe I wonder if it has anything to do with the texture or if it really does have anything to do with scent? Red doesn't seem to have a preference. She just knows it's something that goes on feet and therefor she must pilfer it. I'm glad Mylo is ok and he didn't need surgery to remove those socks I'm hoping. @tunez23, do those napkins have remnants of some food on them? As for the sock burying....she's a sock hoarder! Hahha maybe she's trying to hide all your socks to say "I walk bare pawed and so will you, human." |

| Haha it is pretty funny to watch jinx drag a cushion that's bigger than her through the house to get to the backyard!! And yes I think alucard might have a bit of ocd lol he lines up his toys too! |

| @amanda the napkins don't have food on it usually, but she will only grab and destroy square shaped napkins, if its a one of the rectangle ones she won't bother with it. |

| I think we need to start rounding up all socks and plants! Red recently destroyed one of my potted plants and shook the dirt all over the house too. Maybe get our pups checked for OCD too! Square napkins only? Lolol I don't think Skye likes squares. My husband did a snort-laugh when I told him about the square napkins. I'm so glad Red doesn't steal blankets but has a habit of putting holes in them. I've had to stock pile on cheapie blankets when they were on sale. |

| Suka has a thing for toilet paper and paper toweling. But mostly toilet paper. Last night, we saw he'd grabbed a six-pack of unopened toilet paper and laid down in his favorite spot. I heard the crinkle and got up to check on him and saw that. It was so comical that Todd tried to take a photo, but it was too dark and Suka moved before we turned the light on. I took it away from him. We're CONSTANTLY finding torn apart toilet paper around our house. I finally got him to stop taking it off the roll, so now he grabs it out of the garbage can. >_< |

| @Jessie, you just can't win when they get stuck on that one thing! I wonder if they make doggie proof toilet paper guards. I saw a messed up roll of wet toilet paper in the bathroom one time and thought it was Red's doing. Turns out it was my husband who dropped it in the toilet and just never threw it out. Lol |

| I had Todd buy a new garbage can for the bathroom that has a lid. Now we don't find torn toilet paper around the house. Unfortunately, all the little garbage cans we'd have in each room are now on an elevated surface, and I kind of hate that. If it's not elevated, Suka gets into them. So I have to keep a close eye on him. At least we found a solution to the toilet paper mess though. |
