Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | Hi guys! I am a fist time pet owner, and have a siberian husky pup who is almost 3 months of age... I am feeding him Purina Pro Plan optistart (medium) for two months now... He hasnt stopped shedding and recently (past 7 days) i have noticed that he is hungry all the time and cries when sees something edible in my hands... Secondly i doubt that he has lost weight too as i can feel his ribs easily now... What should i do? |

| The fact i think he needs de-worming is because he eats everything thats on the floor... Tissue, cardboard papers, even dead flies... |

| How many calories is he getting? I found the feeding guide for Optistart but it seems to be metric and I am defunked in metric. I an not figure out how many kg he should be having. |

| The standard steps used by veterinarians to determine a dog’s caloric needs (otherwise known as their maintenance energy requirements) are as follows:
Divide a dog’s body weight in pounds by 2.2 to convert to kilograms (kg) Resting Energy Requirement (RER) = 70 (body weight in kg)^0.75 Maintenance Energy Requirement (MER) = appropriate multiplier x RER
Your MER would be 3 for growth at less than 4 months.
Also at 3 months has he had all of his shots and vet check ups? Mine was not done until 4 mos so he had dewormers while younger and then several fecal checks until he was 4 mo.

| At your puppy's age, his vet should give him a dewormer (they come in tablet form). As for him always being hungry, he's a puppy! He's going through a growth spurt now, so his appetite is going to increase. My husky was always starving until 6 months.. although at 8.5 months he can still eat a tons, he gets fed twice a day, 1 cup AM, 1 cup PM... but until the age of 7 months, I was feeding him 3 times a day... |

| We call Mako (our puppy) the Roomba because he eats everything in sight. I think that's just normal puppy behavior. Also, he eats every meal like its his last. I think Enzo is just being a normal puppy. I would get him dewormed though just in case... they can pick up some weird things from rummaging around. |
