Hello everyone.  My name is Lori and my family and I just relocated to North Carolina.  With a fenced in yard and two little kids we knew we wanted a puppy!  My husband had huskies growing up and I house sat for one growing up.  We tried to go through a rescue agencies.  One agency in NC wouldn't adopt to us since we have a cat; their dogs are all a year or older and had not been around cats.  We were then referred to a place in VA and we went through with the process and were approved after forms and a house visit.  We were so excited but we were told that our wait would be long and we couldn't adopt without meeting the dog and that several people would be coming to meet each dog at each meet and greet.  This was heartbreaking because we were not going to drive almost 7 hours to possibly not come home with a dog.  I then found a rescued husky closer to home and it was down to us and another applicant.  The other applicant was chosen.  I am not sure why as I never received an explanation.  We were so devastated but I did not give up.  Well, last weekend we went on got this gorgeous gal!  Kept outside in a cage with the rest of the litter and another adult dog, maybe a hound in less than ideal sanitary conditions.  So glad we were able to get her out of there and into our loving home.   She is 7 weeks old.  Anyone else from North Carolina?  Would love to connect with local husky owners! Welcome to the forum! Sometimes the road to adoption can become tedious and a pain but the right pups always find us. What's her name?

Oh, sorry I forgot that lol! I just edited it to include. Her name is Pepper! All the other names presented by myself and my husband were vetoed by our 4 year old - you know, the boss! lol. I love her nose so much!! She is such a lover and snuggler!
