Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hi everyone! My name is Sean and I got my little buddy, Eli, this past Monday. He was born on 10/14/2015, making him a little over 7 weeks.
Got him from upstate Vermont and he has done very well adjusting this past week!

After the first night, he was going in and out of the crate on his own as well as eating and drinking normally. He has been doing great with potty training, as he is able to hold it all night long and go right when he's brought outside. Only a few accidents due to my fault in not bringing him out soon enough Rolling Eyes We have two cats and he has been interacting well with them. He generally sits and stairs at it, sniffs it, or jumps around playfully a little. The cat, Bob, gave him a little hit so he got put in his place and respects the cat. More to come as he gets older Very Happy

This is my first dog, so will be looking around for any training tips to keep Eli at the top of his game!

Welcome, Sean - Eli is a cutie. Get ready for a wild and wonderful year bounce

Whereabouts in Mass? We have a member in Billerica who does a lot with Boston Snow Dogs. Also, my son is in Westford - he has been caretaking his SIL's older lab for the past 3 months while his SIL gets a new kitchen. Son and his wife have said "we are SO over dog fever!" Not surprising...they have 3 kids under 7 and both work full-time and he travels. Son grew up with my first husky, Sasha so he always thought he wanted his own dog.

Ahh...I went tho Smith, met my husband in Pittsfield. Know the area well. It was in Northampton that my first husky was spayed and left the vets occur office on her own... through both her cage AND the locked storm door Hello from Mass! 1625187496

Sean, Welcome! Eli is a cute pup indeed, and wow, you are lucky on the potty training. I have an almost 17 week old girl pup, and we have just had our first week of going all night long, so don't get discouraged if he regresses a little (maybe not and then really lucky you, haha). anyways, great info and people here if you have any questions that can't be answered by looking at the search. Have fun!!

Thanks everyone! I am really active for my Toyota Tundra forum so I figured I'd see if there was one for Huskies also.

Ah, gotcha, real close! We live in Hadley, so open fields are in abundance for little Eli. We have close to two acres of lawn which he loves and is doing pretty well at following me and coming when called.

Does seem like he has regressed a little, but we're working on it!

Cute pup! My puppy Lutsen was born a day before Eli! He's officially been with us for a week.
