| I have been meaning to update you guys and finally found a minute where I remembered. Simon's Crappy Birthday Month: Tuesday, November 3rd a dog bit him in daycare and ripped a 1 1/2 inch gash in his ear. Apparently Simon walked up and poked the dog in the face with his nose and the dog bit him. We took Simon to the vet where we found out it went through the skin and cartilage but not the skin on the other side, but it was just a line and was holding itself together. The vet put him on antibiotics and gave us an antibiotic cream. He told us for the next three days to take it easy, but after that to treat him like normal while continuing the antibiotics.
The next Saturday his ear was healing well, so Simon and I headed out to go sledding with my friend who is teaching us and allows Simon to run with her dogs. They went for a 4+ mile run and we were taking off their harnesses and letting them run back to their houses like we do after every run. Simon has met most of her dogs and has gotten along with all of them he's met. So, like an idiot, I let him loose to run over to the empty house he was hanging out at while we were there. Simon decided to go right up to one of the more irritable males that he hasn't met, and they start doing the "who are you" sniff. Well, as the other dog is sniffing Simon's butt, he bites him. On the skin of Simon's anus. The bite left two punctures, so we cleaned him off and took him to the emergency vet to get him stitched up. We got more antibiotics and some pain meds. Also we now have to keep that area clean and covered in neosporin. So it has been a fun few weeks of me kicking myself for letting Simon get into that situation. |

Yeah it has been really crappy he hates taking pills and wont take them in food because he chews his food and breaks the pill out. So we have to stick them down his throat and hold his mouth shut till he swallows. Simon is kind of a diva especially on leash he can be a vocal brat. Since he was hurt I have only had him around Sadie or other dogs he knows well that have very mellow personalities that he has known all his life so the risk is really low of anything bad happening. And in those situations he has been perfectly normal. |

| I hate when dogs have ear cuts. Glad none of the injuries weren't really serious. Though the butt bite would be an irritating one to care for. I hate ear injuries. I had a bird dog that had her ear ripped up and we liked to never got it healed because she would always shake her head and bust it back open again. _________________ |

| I think it might have been serious if we hadn't gotten him to the vet and taken care of it.
And he is doing that annoying husky thing were being hurt doesn't slow down at all. |
