Has anyone heard about Maxine's story? I'm wondering if they found her a good home. I can't believe how skinny she is for her age and when I compare her to Red (since they would be around the same age), it's heartbreaking to know that someone would just dump a dog on the streets to die.

Now that's a heartbreaker. Like so many others have said, I wish I could rescue every one of these dogs ...
There's also a video about her vet visit - and she was fantastic at the vet, she didn't even get upset when the vet tech had to stick her twice to draw blood.
I've sent an email off to "ForgottenDogs" ( info.5thward@gmail.com ) so I'll follow up here with whatever they respond.
Their FaceBook page ( https://www.facebook.com/ForgottenDogs5/ ) has more information abou the group but I see nothing further on Maxine; the website ( http://forgottendogs.org/ ) hasn't been update in a long time. Hope they're just busy 'doing their thing' ....
Her vet visit:

Thanks for looking up the info, Al. Yes please update if you hear of anything. I'll do the same. This story was done around Jan 2016 so I would assume there would be some news by now. I did see her vet visit video and I bet she was someone's pet for quite awhile before she was abandoned. I have doubts that she was abandoned purely on behavior since she's seems so friendly. Maybe some other circumstances but there are ways to find a good home for her rather than dropping her off to fend for herself.

If very much was wrong with her they will have to hold her for a while and treat her for all of that is wrong with her. Any worms or such that will prevent her from being around other dogs will have to be cleared up before she can go to a foster home. Chances are she is still being treated for things and evaluated. A foster home may have decided to keep her and she never went up for adoption either. She should be easy to find a home for though as long as nothing too wrong is with her. If she has something that will stick with her forever then it might be a little harder.

This is in my area wow! and that is Mylo's vet! Dr. Palmer is the owner of that clinic, she is wonderful...but seemed a bit frustrated here maybe cause she kept being interrupted.. Anyway, Maxine did so great at the vet. I hope she is back in top form and being loved again.

Wow how crazy is that, Dave? Same vet! I don't know about any privacy laws or some sort of regulations but I wonder if Dr. Palmer would be willing to divulge any status info on Maxine to you if you asked this since was aired on the internet?

I'm not sure if I'd be the type to ask that kind direct of question cause maybe she has forgotten lol BUT what can do is mention the video like hey Dr. Palmer I saw a video of you on YouTube in a rescue dog segment! But thing is, you don't always get the same Dr every time. There are four different Dr's. Back when Mylo was a younger pup, I would specifically ask for Dr. Palmer cause she has had huskies in the past. Now I go for any of the Dr's there, they are all great.

Sounds like a plan, David! Let us know if you hear anything. Your vet sounds like they have a large practice. My vet is only one person .

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I inserted a comment into the you tube video and the organization replied back to read the notes section for additional updates. Not much help there but I did some additional googling and came across the following. Looks like Maxine has been adopted! Let's hope her new family will love her unconditionally.

Amanda, thanks for following up on this. I've wondered a few times what has happened to her. Hope that she got a good home, she deserves one!! Just watching her in those videos made me want to go get her, she seems like such a super girl.

You're most welcome. Just based on the videos, she certainly is a sweetheart.
