Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

We have a pond right next to our house and Suka LOVES to swim! She goes flying down the hill, jumps and hits the water at full speed.....then she just paddles around and around. I just don't recall seeing much about this breed loving water so much...do your dogs love to swim?

How fun for Suka! Also, yes Miya loves water I recently took her to the beach and there she went chasing other dogs in the waves

Nah...not the big boy. In hot weather, he likes to wade but once the water gets up to his belly and his feet are not so firmly on the bottom, he's outta there. Archer? He's the original fish He's the primary reason we put a loop of invisible fence around the pool - once the winter cover was on and rain water started to collect, Archer loved to jump on it...but with the lowered level, he was at risk of drowning - either by submerging the cover or just not being able to get out and becoming fatigued. Hence, the fence. But - Archer is only part husky - I'm guessing he has some lab in him.

Miya loves to swim. Anywhere and everywhere there is water Miya takes a swim. When she plays in the mud, she automatically goes to her pool to clean up, lol. Last winter we got an early freeze and had not dumped her pool, so she jumped in and looked like the titanic sinking, then decided the ice had to go, and threw chunks over the edge so she could still wade in her pool. Silly huskies.....

Anya loves to swim, but she is appallingly bad at it She has so much hair it weighs her down and she sinks, poor baby. So we got her a life jacket and she does much better and can swim to her heart's content.
