| My sweet 1 1/2 year old girl has been itching her ears several times a day for about 4 months. Two different vets have looked in them and said all looks normal, although the last one said, about a month ago, she was starting to get a small wound in one of them from the frantic itching. She is on a raw diet, and on the advice of the holistic vet, I took her completely off chicken for several weeks, in case of an allergy. That did not seem to help at all. I wipe her ears out (almost) daily with an organic anti-itch/hot spot spray saturated on a cotton pad ... it's still going on! Otherwise, she is perfectly healthy and happy. Any suggestions |

| Gotcha covered Jimmy....Gina, what exactly are you feeding her? I am not going to be much help as well, but it maybe something other than chicken she is allergic to. Has your vet done any tests to see if she has certain allergies? |

| Have your vet check into Scabies. They cause excessively itchy ears and are extremely hard to diagnose. we wound up treating my cats just in case because they couldn't see anything despite multiple exams and they wanted to be sure. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Thanks for the replies -- We haven't done any allergy testing yet ... she gets a varied diet: lots of beef, chicken, pork, some lamb and fish, mixed in with some veggies, occasional fruit ... bone broth ... I don't even know where we would start! The good news is that it seems better! I'll take her to the vet if she's still itching next week. |
