Happy Birthday to Mylo!!! He is now a 1 year old puppy (His birthday was yesterday but finally posting everything) He was super spolied on this day of celebration- new toys, bowls, special chunky beef dinner, new king size antler, and pup cake!
I never thought that I would ever have a dog and be so close to one. My girlfriend (Tania) and I love him so very much. He is like a child to us, and will be that for a good while. We are both 21 years old and currently going to college. We have a balanced system..whenever I'm in school she has him at her house, and when she is in school he's at my house. We conveniently live about 2 miles away from each other, lucky for me and Mylo hehe.
**For anyone just interested in the new pics and video, just skip my blabbering**
***AND for anyone interested on the complicated beginnings of acquiring Mylo, go ahead and read…It's a loong story***
The beginning story of Mylo is confusing and complicated. To start, he was suppose to live in Tania's house, but her father changed his mind about her having a dog in the house again after agreeing to the plan months in advance. He didn't care he was paid for and all the supplies we had. We took him home at 6 weeks, only because all the other owners wanted to pick up the pups already so we went ahead and did it too. We returned him after only two days of having him at her house because of her father. I couldn't keep him cause I was currently working and no one at my house could take care of a little puppy. ...So it was hard..very hard to drive all the way back and return him. Tania and I were crying our eyes out as we explained to the breeder (Melisaa). Since we visited Mylo every single week until it was time to pick him up..we were already close to Mylo and the breeder knew us pretty good too. We drove off after spending a few hours at the breeders house. The pain continued and I even made a deal with Melissa, were gonna try for a week to convince Tania's father about the dog. He wasn't budging. I was tired of everything already and called to breeder to do whatever she wanted with Mylo…but to please keep us updated about his well being. I didn't even care about the money I spent on him, I just wanted to move forward. -Then more crazy stuff happened- Three days after I made the call to the breeder, my job started laying off people, I was one of them… so now I suddenly have time to attend a puppy at my house until I can get another job. Sooo I call the breeder with some excitement back…BUT then it turns out she got rid of Mylo already to a lady near her area. We were crushed…but we didn't know I was gonna be laid off or I could've still kept the week deal if we had an opening to get him back. She gave him to the lady, since she had already sold him, she didn't want to re sell a puppy again. When she said that I went ahead and said if we can have him back. Yes I said it. I didn't say it in desperation or anything, I just said it in a calm manner. Melissa said she would try to do something but nothing was guaranteed. She was going to have another litter in a few months so she offered a free puppy since she gave Mylo away our money would still stand. We thought about it, we didn't know what to do really. We ended up thinking of Mylo like as if he passed away so we could try to move on.
Eventually, we agreed to get another puppy on the next litter. Tania was depressed and even cut her hair short (professionally of course). I was also crushed about everything not happening like we planned. So thats it we were set on the next litter, Mylo was the sad short past. I stopped messaging the breeder about Mylo. Then one night at 9pm I was out playing with friends and I get a message from Melissa…it was a picture of her holding 8 week old Mylo... I didn't know what to feel at first sight. I sent the picture to Tania and then called her shortly after. I would've loved to get him that night but I was so far away up north and it was gonna be too late by the time we made it down to where Mylo was. So we agreed on picking him up the following day. When we turned on Melissa's street it started to sink in…we were getting our boy back!! we started to cry a little bit in joy. We ring the door bell, door opens…we see Mylo walking around and its like we never left him…the breeder even started getting in tears as we reunited right there. We went on the car and headed to my house. This seems like the happy ending already right? NOPE. It was a Saturday afternoon when we picked up Mylo so we had to wait until Monday to take him took to the vet for a checkup. Let's go back to Saturday for a bit, on our way back home we decided to stop by a nice park. We played, had fun, took pics and video then finally got to my house. He was doing great and was surprisingly almost potty trained already. Now it's Monday we went to the vet…he was in good shape just had a little round worm, gave him a pill and that was that…2 days later he starts looking lethargic, has diarrhea, then doesn't want to eat, pukes. He has Parvo… Tania and I just cannot seem to get a break.. We were stumped, not really knowing what Parvo was, we got informed which lead to us finding two possible places where he could've got it from. The park we went to before getting home OR …the mistake we did at the vet which was letting him walk on the floor in there…at the time we didn't know that was a big no no. To not make the long story longer…Mylo spent three days at the vet. The first night was the hardest of course, knowing that he could've passed away was absolutely horrifying. Fortunately, I got a call from the vet saying that he made it through the night and that we can go visit him! Like I said after three days, he was doing good enough to go home with various meds. I had to go play Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons so Tania would attend him at my house when I had to be away. We had Mylo in isolation for a month, his meds were for about two weeks. We didn't take him out for anything and when we did I would carry him just to get some fresh air. Yes pooping and peeing was done in my room. It was a interesting time, me and Tania would just spend our days in my room hanging out and attending little Mylo. Finally, a month passed and we started to walk him in the outside world. It was a joy seeing him having fun and just being a puppy again. We never went back to that park until his birthday. And yes we never went back to that vet where we let him walk on. At last, things were looking good. (until we had a flea fluid preventative scare) but that got cleared fast with a emergency vet visit. He gets trifexis which he's been doing great on. Mylo has accomplished quite the feat in eating things he shouldn't…some I've made threads of here and some I never did. He has ate: *a hersheys chocolate nugget with wrapper (it fell), *a little square silica gel pack that fell out of a box while I was opening it, *an open safety pin (didn't catch him in time, and miraculously passed wrapped in hairs), *The sock (which was covered on its own dedicated thread and that he eventually puked) *A scrunchy stretchy hair thing (we had no idea he ate but pooped out like a day after the sock emerged) *And finally, recently, the corn cob incident (which has its own dedicated thread).
In sum, we are more than grateful for Mylo's life. We celebrated him and we love him so deeply...the things we've been through with him have not only brought us together to Mylo but it has brought Tania and I closer than we already were. Mylo is more than just a dog, he something in which we both pour our heart and soul in. So once again Happy 1st birthday little Mylo! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ **HERE are the new pics, video, and music!!!**
First some pics…we got him this really cute bowtie suit bandana thing, it will forever be his Birthday bandana (it's M and L). And then some pics of him with his Bday gifts and at the park with him and then Tania and I. Enjoy!
Getting some goodies at the pet store!
Eating his special dinner from a normal bowl at last (he's been on slow feed bowls since 4 months old) Chewin on his new big boy split elk antler His pup cup cake
His new toys and antler New awesome, tough alien toy with a bunch of squeakers! Tough, squeak hot dog icon ball And lastly, Mylo enjoying his cup cake
And the grand finale..the big slideshow "A Year of Mylo"
All original music created by yours truly and the 2nd song is dedicated to both Tania and Mylo, my treasures.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYLO!!!!!!!!!!!
Dave, indeed for a lot of us (most of us) they are our kids, and we will do anything for them. Funny over the last week I have heard this and said this, and will say again.....Everything happens for a reason, and can not happen any other way. Mylo is a gift, and has helped you and Tania to grow. Huskies steal our hearts for sure, their goofiness, their intelligence, their huge desire to just love us, to be part of their pack, it is an incredible bond that we form with our fur balls. I wish you, Tania, and Mylo a great day and many, many years of joy and laughter. Y'all have gone through so much this, his first year, sending you positive vibes to have this next year with less sleepless nights. Give an extra hug to Mylo for me!! And thank you for sharing the story of Mylo.

Beautiful music Dave. I love your family portrait at the end. and Mylo is too cute for words in his birthday tuxedo. I also adore your water pics with Mylo. I feel old saying this, but.....It is a refreshing outlook to see 2 young people having so much fun, sharing boundless love, being so happy, and being responsible, I still see hope for our world with your pics and videos (and so I don't hurt anyone's feelings, everyone here in general).

Dave, I'm kinda speechless...this entire presentation made my eyes tear, made me smile, made me laugh, and Kohdi is next to me while I watched the video and he was listening to it too. Mylo is truly one lucky little boy, in so many ways, but I think it's more than luck, it's the way things were meant to be. And I know, you guys are lucky too, I think that's what I mean though, this little family was just meant to be.
Video and pics are just awesome, your original music just made it that much better and even more special, some of the pics made me laugh because I see my two in Mylo as well so I know those "moments" personally (I even have two of those little tuxedo things! Haha) seriously Dave, and Tania, thank you for sharing these pics, and video...and your story. I love it! And most of all, Happy Birthday Mylo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish Mylo and you two many many many more .

Thanks again @MiyasMomma! And I just felt inspired to write a song for the occasion and I think it came out well. I guess we are flattered to know about the hope for our world thing lol we have already had talks about having a 2nd husky but it's better if we wait until we get our own place after we get solo eve over with!
I think the same @Artic_Wind! Everything was somehow meant to happen and meant to be and in the end everything ended happy and continues to be a wonderful experience and ohh cool that you also have the tuxedo bandana, I saw it at a petco near me and I had to have it!

Hey guys, (for anyone interested) here's the main song by itself from the slide show, it's called "With You". I wrote it, played everything on it, and sung on it to commemorate not only my love for my girlfriend but for Mylo as well, it's a two in one song

Yeah and we are lucky to have Mylo, we love him so much I love taking video of him, in fact maybe too much. Funny thing is that almost two years ago when I got my iPhone 5s…before getting a dog was even a thought…32gb of storage was great for me but then when Mylo came in, my phone is filled with 98% pics/vids of him lol So I can't wait to have a 128gb iPhone to fill it up with Mylo lol The 5s is still running strong so I'm in no hurry to upgrade though.

Dave, you are sounding too much like me, LOL, I got an Ipad back I think in March/April, and last night it warned me my storage was low...then today, no more storage and its nothing but Kohdi and Mishka pics, LOLOL, my iphone, which is technically a work phone (they pay the bill) is full of Kohdi and Mishka pics as well, haha, surprisingly though, its not full
So how did Mylo do with a regular food bowl?

@Artic_Wind Man Jim, my phone has been completely filled like 10 times already! lol right now I have 3,402 photos and 120 videos eventually I trim down and move some pics and video to my iPad and my computer. I'm slowly moving everything to a usb drive too. I refuse to delete all the pics/vids of all the times we went to visit Mylo as a baby puppy before we took him home..I like to have them on the phone so I can look at them whenever I want! My phone might be the most boring compared to others…I don't have any games or anything fun, the only fun thing is the camera to take pics/vids of Mylooo! The next thing that takes up the rest of my storage is my music library which I keep it to only the essentials of songs I really love (150 songs).
Oh and about the regular food bowl…Mylo has been doing excellent eating like a big boy now When he was eating his special dinner on his birthday both me and my girlfriend got watery eyed just seeing him eating slowly, it was really a nice thing to see after months on slow bowls (we have all the patterns!). Even now when I serve him breakfast I get happy seeing him eat nicely oh and he has also started doing this thing where I guess he cant believe that he's getting a regular bowl cause I tell him take it and he looks back at me like "whaa a normal bowl?" then he gets a few kibble pieces in his mouth and takes them out of the bowl and puts them on the floor then eats them…he will do it like two more times until he finally continues eating in the bowl lol I actually bought him a new heavy ceramic dog bowl (a different bowl from whats shown on the pics here, I forgot to take a pic of the new one).

It's always fun to watch children grow up together .... wait, I'm going to be insulting the poor pup if I keep that up!
Dave, seriously, it's been enjoyable (with a few exceptions) watching you and Tanya develop that connection with Mylo - and the opposite, too, of course.
I don't know whether it's just the artist in you that makes Mylo's pictures so cute - I can't think of a more appropriate word - or whether he is just that cute! He's got to be among the most photogenic dog I've seen!
Liked the video but finally had to turn the sound off since Avalanche was trying to "second" Mylo and your music ... and he tends to get excited when he hears another dog on the computer. You do good work!

Hahaha, yeah, I don't have games on mine either, I have enough trouble typing on the thing, lol.
Since having Malukhai, I don't delete pics anymore, even if they are really bad pics. I have every single pic I ever took of him, and when I look at them, I still remember the moment like it was yesterday, so yeah, don't you dare delete any of those puppy pics! like you, I've started saving mine so I can make room for more, LOLOL.
That is AWESOME with the food bowl!!! That is something to really be proud of love the new avatar too! Mylo is adorable!

I have a few games on the ipad, which is where they should be since the screen is more appropriate haha. And
Yeah I love having all my Mylo pics and go on a adventure in the past sometimes.
I'm so glad he graduated to regular bowl status and that he got the hang of waiting to eat his food by command and I think it's the perfect pic to have as an avatar cause he's all smiley looking straight at the camera lol
