I need training help really bad Empty
PostSubject: I need training help really bad    I need training help really bad EmptyWed Oct 07, 2015 1:04 pm

I have a two year old husky who is the alpha female and I mean alpha female! Dogs smell her and run away and I'm talking German shepards, Rottweilers, and other male huskys. No dog wants anything to do with her because I guess they smell it on her not to mess with her. She is extremely playful and LOVES people and other dogs but her playing with dogs turn into her being to rough. A dog will play with her at the park for 2 mins and they are done but she doesn't allow them to stop and I correct her and hold her for 5 mins which seems to be working a little. I don't think anything I do will ever get her to not be aggressive that is just how she is . I pray every time another husky is at the park because they can atleast somewhat handle her. I recently moved to NYC for work and she has such bad anxiety walking in the street. Does anyone have any tips that might help her get over that? She loves to go to the dog park but she's very rough with other dogs but for the most part that's not the biggest issue. When she gets bored because no one will play with her or she gets really excited when someone wants to pet her she can't contain herself and she jumps up. She's 85lbs and can get well over 6 ft and I'm terrified she is going to jump on the wrong person one day. She never does this at home and she knows she's not aloud to do it. I've tried everything to correct the behavior but nothing seems to work. Any advice how I can get her to stop? I almost just don't wanna take her to the park anymore but she's so terrified of walking in the city it's the only way to let her get rid of some of her energy . I told myself I would never use a shock collar but I'm at that point where I feel like it's the last resort . Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I suggest you PM another member - wpskier. She lives in NYC and has become a dog trainer and has had excellent, humane results with ecollar and prong training.
