| Hey Everyone - just wanted to drop by this awesome resource and introduce myself and my new pup, Rhaegar! So far he's adjusting well to his new pack. Mom and I are doing the full court press of clicker training and daily socialization & exercise hoping that the extra effort now will pay off once he's the 50+lb dog. Only minor issues we're trying to address. R gets a little rough when playing with other puppies. We're in Puppy Kindergarten so we're hoping some more supervised playtime can help him learn some calmer behaviors. Otherwise his house training is going really well, and he has the normal bouts of the zoomies every other day or so. Anyway, hello! |

| As long as he is letting go when other puppies Yelp I wouldn't worry about it, honestly huskies often play rough as long a he is well soclized it shouldn't become a problem! Good luck with the new puppy!! ☺️ Pictures please!!! |

| hi, welcome to the forums. the supervise play should help, that way you can get him to take a time out if he gets to rough and have him calm down and then release him to go play again. did the same with Leo when he was a little. very fun for him to play with some one his size lol. |

| wow , Leo never liked that one it was way too strange, but he did use a teeter totter that we made out of some wood, go figure. looks like he is doing well, and he should get the hang of playing nicely in time. our trainer said if they get to ruff and a bit out of (the nip and not let go) control to grab the collar and tell them to sit and wait for them to calm down. about 1 min or so and then release them back to play. he is very lovely, like your avatar lol gr. |

| Thanks everyone! Rhaegar has been coming along very well. Many hours playing hard and sleeping harder!
Does anyone else experience the 'dead to the world' pup at night? I've had to wake him up after 4-5 hours to take him out (keeping to the age-in-months+1 hour rule) and he's sleeping so deeply that he gets very annoyed i'm disturbing him. I figure it's better for his bladder health to wake him up than to have him try and hold it longer.
In other news; his 'rough' play has also abated a tiny bit. He still goes in straight lines rather than circles, but seems more respectful of other puppies once they fall / roll over. Very fun to see him play with other Sibe's though! The head trainer remarked that they were 'playing like siblings...we might have to break them up' right before things got INTENSE and we needed a time-out.
More pictures when I get a chance to upload them. |
