| Our 5 month old husky has started peeing in the house. And I'm not talking about little amounts or excitement peeing. I'm talking saving up to see how much of the floor she can cover at once.
She pees inside after being outside in the yard. She pees if she's been on a hike. She pees in every room of the house and sneaks off to do it. She's figured out she can open doors so she sneaks out of our daughter's room in the morning and pees and then comes running to wake us up. She is fully crate trained but about a week ago has started peeing even after 20 minutes in it.
I thought at first that it could be a reaction to being in trouble or being upset but she doesn't really do anything other than this. The occasional reminder to stop jumping is about it. She has seen the vet a couple of weeks ago and has nothing medically wrong with her.
I do clean it up with pet cleaner and let her outside every time she asks. This is a new development. She was doing extremely well until a few weeks ago. |

| Any suggestions here? She spent most of her time outside today and seemed to wait to come inside to pee. |

| Sophie, I haven't encountered the problem. My only thoughts may be change in routine, as in has anything changed at all in your lifestyle. I know you have been stressed, and perhaps, you haven't been exercising, or training as much, or at different times? I know huskies prefer routine, and hate change, maybe this is her way of telling you that she doesn't like her current routine.
My other thought is, a training issue? As in you think she is 100% potty trained, but really she has fooled you? haha....they are a stubborn breed. Miya has been fully potty trained at around 7 or 8 months, where I could trust her. Even at 2.5 years though, I do tell her to go potty. So as far as training, you may have to tell her to go vs waiting for her to tell you. The other area in this, is maybe she doesn't like the spot you place her for her to go potty. They are finicky, Miya will fake pee if I have had enough and tell her to go potty, lol, then 5 minutes later she will just go do her business, outside of course, but.....You may have to start from scratch on this, and pretend she is a baby, and tell her to go.
I know that is not much help. I had seen your thread the other day, and had hoped someone else would chime in, because I really haven't a good idea on how to help, but, maybe my suggestions will. Lil brats, lol..... |

| Btw, at her age they don't want to miss out on anything, so maybe her thought process is, hmmmm, I gots to go, but this ball is too much fun. Oh no I have to go inside, oh that's right I had to pee, ooppss.......I know that sounds funny, but, it's not meant to be. As long as the vet says she is 100% ok, I would lean to a training issue, or change in routine. |

| We did have to spend 5 days at a fair recently which saw her in her crate a lot more than usual. But she never went to the bathroom in it and my partner came home throughout the day to let her out. That's the only change in routine that has happened.
I agree that we can only assume it's a training issue but I just can't pin point what we need to change! She was completely fine today but yesterday, after spending the majority of her time on walks and in the yard, peed three times inside. I've had to buy a whole jug of pet mess cleaner! Our puppy training class starts in just over a week so I will ask after it then and hope to find a solution. |
