My dog peed on our couch this morning. He's 3.5 years old and has NEVER done this before. Does anyone have any decent advice for cleaning the cushions? The cushions are made out of foam. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated!

Weird. I bet he has a UTI. As for the cushions, are they one big piece of foam, or is it like a foam filler in tiny pieces?

He was on 10 days of Cortisone pills after being treated for a hot spot. We were told by the vet to expect that he would have to go more because of the side effects. He did have 2 accidents on his bed during that 10 day period, which was understandable. However, about 10 days post medication, he peed on his bed 2 more times. He is in a transition period right now since we have been living with our In-Laws. He has recently gotten used to having company almost all day long as my MIL is retired. However, in the summer she travels up north to NH for weeks at a time. I personally think he is developing some separation anxiety. He wants to come with us whereever we go and not be left alone. We typically give him a high value treat when we leave the house, and he's happy as can be. We never have any other issues with him. I went to the gym at 6:00am, Qannik was still sleeping and didn't want to get up, and my husband left for work. (Side note: Q has always been unbelievable with holding his bladder. And not that we make him, he is just a very chill dog, and doesn't ever rush to go out in the morning to do his business. Plus he isn't a heavy water drinker). Anyway, when I came home from the gym, he had totally emptied his bladder. And the cushions on solid pieces of foam. Probably 2'X2'. As for the UTI, he isn't peeing any more than normal at any other point in the day. Everything else seems totally normal. One other side note, is that he's hot at night. My MIL has central air, but doesn't like to put it on very much, so even though it's on, the house is registering at 75 degrees. He's just too hot. We have a fan in front of his bed to help, but I do hear him go for water in the night. Wondering if that could be part of the issue too. I generally just think it's a combination of things right now. Just really sucks because it's not my couch. If it were mine, I wouldn't be 1/2 as upset or stressed about it.

Thanks! I'm having the cushions professionally cleaned tomorrow. The cleaners know the situation and have a special enzyme they can to help. Hoping that takes care of things! Just feel so bad because the couch isn't my own.
