I'm sorry if there is another thread on this. I did a search for "spider" and didn't find anything relevant.

I was in the bathroom and there was what appeared to be a wolf spider running around. Darn thing was huge. I'm deathly afraid of spiders so I let out a scream without thinking. Both dogs came bolting in and attacked it. Meeks, the small lab/shepher mix ate it before I could grab her. It does not appear to have bitten either of them. I see no visible wounds and they are both acting normal now.

Vets office is closed right now. Does anyone know if this is dangerous? What signs should I be looking for? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I feel so dumb. I should not have screamed like that; of course they would come running.

I searched something like "wolf spider poisonous to dogs" and got a bunch of stuff on identifying wolf spiders, identifying spider bites, etc., so needless to say it was not productive.

I can't believe how fast the little snot was. She jumped on it, then Loki jumped on it, then she ate it in the time it took for me to take just one step and grab them.

^ Mishka is like that. I'm scared to look at her poop sometimes because I don't wanna know what all she has consumed.

Hope Meeks is ok! I've never even heard of a wolf spider!

I think there must be something to these "M's". Brave creatures! I think having a big brother probably helps boost courage, too, though.

She seems ok so far. It's her bedtime, so she's sleeping. She seems comfortable. Nothing is swollen and she's not whimpering. I probably won't sleep very well tonight. I know they can't kill people, but she's not a very large dog.

Wolf spiders are horrible creatures. They're massive and very fast. They chase things instead of building webs. They are a little bit venomous, too. People say they're not aggressive, but they totally are. If you get too close they'll run at you. They kind of look like brown recluses because they're similar in color, but are bigger, bulkier, have two lines instead of a violin, and don't hide in corners like recluses.

Sorry I did not see this I could have let you know what I personally know about that dang blasted wolf spider. (If your wolf spider in Ks City is similar to a Cincinnati one.)

Years ago my cat tried eating a wolf spider actually the sibe and the cat were both being antagonized by it and the cat ate it. But she got bite too. I was worried as we were renting and told that they were heavy that year.
Talked to the vet about it as my cat ...the corners of her mouth, her throat and under her tongue swelled. It reminded me of what I would think eating an electrical cord should look like. I was told that the average wold spider even a bigger one would not have enough poison to hurt the 70 lb sibe mix we had or to hurt hubs or I but kitty 9 lbs was no match. The vet said they are only dangerous to the smaller items as we would not have a real bad reaction to them due to our larger size.

OH gosh yes she did! So sorry I did not mention that.
That was in 1997 and she passed only 3 years ago.
We went to the vet and they gave her an anti-imflamatory and and treated as allergy. Her airway was never restricted just irritated.
