| Hi everyone. I'm a new member here. My name is Valentine and I'm from Greece. So i would like to apologise for my bad english. I have a Siberian husky puppy girl. Her name is Chiara and it's only 1 month and 5 days old. She has different colour eyes. the one is blue and the other one has an odd colour like dark blue or dark grey i can't explain it for sure but around it when i open her eye there is faint blue. does anyone know if husky's eyes can change their colour during their development? i can send you pics if you want to. I would like her to have 2 blue eyes. but probably she will not have the same colour. but i dont want her to have brown or black eye..
thank you in advance. |

| Having 2 different colored eyes is fairly common in huskies. If one is now truly blue and the other dark, I suspect she will at least be bi-eyed. Another variation is parti-eyed where one eye has 2 different colors. |

| Pics would help, then we could probly tell you for certain if they're bi eyes or parti eyes. At only a month old though, the eyes can still change quite a bit I think. |

| She's bi eyed. It's fairly normal and there are even people like that. Her eyes could still change in shade but she will probably always have one brown and one blue. I know you said you don't want her to have brown eyes but she is beautiful and will still be the same dog regardless of eye color. You should be very proud! |

If you plan to breed her, I hope you wait until she is fully mature and you have her tested for eyes and hips. And that you have a several generation pedigree with health knowledge of the parents and back. Ditto for the prospective stud. With your questions about eye color, I wonder how much knowledge you have about the breed and the breed standard. Will you be showing your girl? |

| she is very lovely, and will be very beautiful lady when she grows up. i too agree she will have one blue and one brown. my boy is bi eyed as well; at first i though that i to wanted him with 2 blue eyes and now i love his eyes and they make no difference in how he is and i wouldn't want him any other way. they give him character; they make me love him all the more. and fyi bi eyed husky are very common. Amy is right about the clearances you need to breed, but i to question your knowledge of the breed and the breed standard?? and your true intentions with her??

| If you dont even know what a parti-eyed husky is, you have no business breeding.
you will find no one on this forum who endorses breeding unless you are a responsible and reputable breeder.
Given you have her at 5-6 weeks, I see the alarms already. husky pups should not be removed from mother and litter until 8 weeks. Please please please do your research, and have her spayed. You can stuck around here and we'll be more than happy to guide you, but we will always strongly recommend not to breed her. ever. |

what about the rest? why do you plan on breeding her? are you showing her? did the breeder show their dogs or just breed out of their home? why did they let you take her at 5-6 weeks? do you have her health certificates? |

You dont plan to breed her by yourself? I dont understand. (this might be a language barrier, I'm not trying to be rude) Do you mean you plan to breed her with another owner or breeder, or you dont plan to breed her at all. If you do plan to breed her, Why? this is a huge huge flag for us, we really dont like to see dogs being bred because they're pretty or to get something specific (like blue eyes or all white hair) We encourage responsible breeding of show dogs and dogs that better the lineage. Do you plan to show her? if not, then you shold really consider getting her spayed. Please do your research. You got her from a breeder who let you take her Way too young. Any ethical breeder does not allow you to take them so young simply because you want them now. |

| It's ok valentine no one wants to fight. We are just trying to understand and maybe point you in the direction to get more information before you make a decision. There are a lot of people who want to breed their dogs but maybe don't understand the consequences or the right way to go about it. If you are thinking about breeding it would definitely be good to talk to everyone so they can give you more information. |
