Thank you! He seemed to actually like his backpack, surprisingly. No picking at it or nothing. I think he stood up a bit straighter, too, lol. Haven't put anything in it yet, though, since I still feel he's too young to be bearing weight, but I think it's good to get him used to wearing it.

His ears are strange. The breeder had never had that happen, and the rest of his litter was normal. Her vet had apparently seen it in some GSDs, though. They crack me up because they bounce every time he walks.

Archer has ears just like Loki's - we've always assumed its because he is a mix (even though the foster lady thought he was full husky, we think she is mistaken but... )

I got Ami an outward hound backpack, too, only the a different model - I wanted really big saddlebags as the purpose is to mostly carry my stuff when around town (with my back and now, neck, issues, carrying a pocketbook as become just about impossible - so now I call Ami "my pocketbook." ) So far I'm pleased with the quality.

Lol I thought it looked like Ami too! She was very affectionate. I friggin loved that dog.

I thought his ears were strange so I read up on it a lot. It's rare but you see it in some German shepherds and yorkies too. It happens sometimes when the ears just don't form correctly. A lot of people will tape the ears and that can fix it. His littermates were all normal.

It seemed like a good brand and fairly cost effective too! I hope it works well!

Thank you! I think the box must smell like doggy stuff because he knew right away it was for him. Funny creatures they are.

I think I'll try a few more meet ups. If nothing else it's good socialization for him and at least I know the other dog owners have actively socialized theirs. The other dogs seemed fairly well adjusted so it had a different atmosphere than a normal day at the dog park, where there's always that one dog... Lol

Loki was having an okay day at the dog park this weekend. Kind of bored.


Then the corgi brigade arrived!

Loki had to greet them and meet their parents first, lol.


Then the fun began! He chased one corgi.


Then two corgis...


They all ganged up and started chasing him. I was too busy laughing to take a picture of that one, though! It was the funniest thing I had ever seen.

But afterwards, the youngest one decided to have a chat with him at the water cooler.

A pack of corgis! how cute, Loki had a blast

Thanks y'all! He was so worn out he went home and took a nap lol. Mike went nuts when he saw the corgi pack. On the way home all I heard was "they are so cute" and "when we get our house we should get one!" Lol. No.

On a side note though Lokis loose leash was spectacular when he was too tired to be distracted lol.

Loki is one year old today! We are celebrating tomorrow but I went ahead and finalized his slideshow today.

I always think I'm going to write like a book about him then I end up not. I just don't know what to say. He really is an amazing little guy and has brought me so much joy in life. I was so lonely before, but now everything seems ok. We've definitely been through some tough times lately but they don't seem so bad when your best friend is with you.

I doubt I'll ever forget the day we got him. He was covered in mud and looked a little crazy lol. I rode home with him in the back seat of my parents ancient Ford and the little dude was just so darn happy. Everything made him happy. Bed time? Yay! Walk? Yay! Trip to the vet? Yay!

He's less exuberant now, but still pretty happy. He loves greeting new people and animals. He likes turkey flavored anything. Bison is good too. He's ok with wearing clothes but needs to be doing something or else he'll fixate a bit. He wakes me up by standing a foot in front of my bad and shaking so his collar jingles. But you can't wake him up from a nap for nothing lol. His favorite thing to do with other dogs is play chase. He sometimes fetches but it's hit and miss. He knows quite a few tricks but getting him to do them when he'd rather do something else is another thing entirely. Overall he's cute, quirky, sweet and in my mind, completely perfect.
