| If it hasn't been more than an hour and a half, give him peroxide to induce vomiting. Go a tablespoon at a time, wait about 10 minutes, and if nothing happens give another. Don't exceed 4 tablespoons. If he doesn't toss it up you can go to an evet and have them do it, or you can keep a close eye and hope he passes it. Watch for lethargy, vomiting, possibly some diarrhea and gas. It should pass within about 48 hours, and you can feed him some bread soaked in oil to help lube things. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | They just took him at the Evet, was too scared to try more things than a tablespoon of peroxide and salt. Only 11 minutes away. Little dummy Mylo |

| He'll be fine. I've made several trips to the Annapolis Evet to get one of my idiots to puke something up Do keep us posted though! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | They asked me again before going thru with the X-ray but with the $500 estimate I kinda feel like just keeping a close eye on him and taking him to his regular vet first thing in the morning tomorrow. Crazy fees at the E-vet. |

Good luck, I hope he comes through ok. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Mylo just did his morning business as usual and he just had breakfast too. I was expecting him to not have an appetite this morning or not be able to poop so I'm holding off going to the vet for now |

| Leo has eaten his far share of thing too , and i too rushed him to the e-vet. and we got lucky that more dangerous stuff came out when he throw up . i now keep a few cans of pumpkin puree around just in case he eats something small that is passable. I'm praying for you guys, hope the sock Mylo ate comes out.

| He ate his mid day snack and has pooped again, normal hard stool as always. The day today has been as usual so far. This isn't the craziest thing he's gotten in him...in the past he has passed a little open safety pin, a little Hershey's chocolate nugget with golden wrapper, and now the sock. It's not a long sock it's the short ones that it seems you're not wearing socks.
***I just noticed this thread is in the scrapbook section, sorry!*** |

| Dave, while it might not seem like much, but what type of a sock was it - cotton or nylon/rayon? A cotton sock may have dissolved in his stomach - still not a good thing to munch on but cotton is less dangerous than an artificial fabric.
ETA: This is not factual, and you should probably consider it bad information, sorry. I wanted to check where I thought I'd seen it but couldn't find it but did find quite a bit of information to the contrary. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford .

| Wow, $500 for an xray? That's crazy. I had chest/abdominal xrays of Bode done a few weeks ago when he was having respiratory issues and I think it was only like $160 for multiple angles.
Good luck with getting that thing passed! |

| Well it was $500 total for everything, the visit, whatever they injected and consultation for X-rays and stuff. Even what I just ended up paying to make him vomit was ridiculous but at least I tried though so I don't regret the crazy $166 I paid. They said they made him throw up three times and I can't remember the exact names of the injection I saw on the receipt.
He's still being his usual self |

| So if he stops pooping and starts vomiting by the third day then it's trouble? Sighh I hope it doesn't go to that..
His appetite is still very well intact, he had dinner as usual.
@artic wind I hope so too, Jim On other news, Mylo turns 9months old tomorrow! |

| Awwww, 9 months
I'm pretty sure if it gets to the no pooping stage, it starts to get serious really fast so keep that in mind 'k |

| She was chasing him around the dinning table playing, he had the sock in his mouth..all the sudden the sock disappeared while still going running around the table. He never left her sight or went another way. The sock was pink and well in the table area there's nothing but the table there so it's not like it could've slipped under something.. |
