Since we've started her on a 'VetsChoice' sensitive diet she's been looking and acting more healthy than before.

Now for about a week she's been doing her own little hunger strike and refusing to eat her food. This surprises me as we've been giving her this brand for a few months now and she'd always been excited to dig in.

The funny thing is that, after I've given the command, she will go toward it a few times and back again as if to fight the urge to eat. So what I've been doing is standing next to her until she, reluctantly, gives in and starts eating it slower than usual I might add.

Other than that, her behavior hasn't changed and she still appears to be happy and healthy.

Since she has a sensitive stomach, any dog treats I've tried using while training her has upset it so I've been using raw meat that I sear for a bit. I'm leaning toward this as the cause of her new eating habit, however I find it strange as it's nothing new to what I've always done with her.

Also, could the weather have something to do with it? It's currently just past the middle of winter here.

Or are there any other reasons she would be acting this way?

Ami periodically does this with his breakfast - if I don't make an issue out of it, just pick up the food and offer it again at dinner time, he'll eat ravenously. I believe its because he's had enough food the day before and just isn't hungry. He gets added treats from my husband at dinner time and the amount is not constant so sometimes he gets a lot and sometimes almost nothing (depending on what I serve for dinner)

So, if he suddenly is not wanting to eat but otherwise everything is normal (as in, you didn't just give his heartworm or flea/tick medication, for instance, well even if you did) I would just abandon that meal, start again at the next scheduled feeding.

Joshua, I think this is one of the oddities of Huskies that bothers most people. Assuming that the animal is in good health and not acting oddly (except for not eating) follow Ami's advice. For some reason, most Huskies will, from time to time, just take a couple of days break from their normal eating pattern.
