| Hello everyone! I'm the proud owner of two adorable little devils, 1 yr 2 month old Ares (brown eyes), and almost 1 year old Mars (blue eyes)! I've had them for almost a year now, and I just want to thank this forum for being so awesome back in the days when I was clueless(ish) about husky problems. Really helped answer a lot of my questions. Anyways, one of my dogs has been starting to eat a little less, maybe just half his dinner, and I thought to google if I should be too concerned. Google search comes up with this site, and I am not too worried anymore, as Huskies generally eat a little less during summer, and they will control their food intake. Since I'm here, I decided to join the forum, and hopefully be able to share my experiences in the future. So, once again, Hello! Well here are the boys! Left is Ares, and right is Mars. A pretty recent shot as they wait patiently before they get their treat! Oh, if anyone was wondering, it is a dried spare rib from Zeal, they absolutely loveeeeeeee it (and will crunch it) to bits! Ares at 2 months and 6 months Ares says hello to a wild cow when we went for a super hike and his first swim in the sea on his first birthday Baby Mars the moment I first saw him I knew Ares was getting a new brother! Mars testing his luck, and giving his "I know nothing" look as he is not allowed onto the bed I am pretty sure Mars is a mix, because his tail is SUPER SUPER bushy, I can barely wrap both my hands around his tail! I'll take a better picture of his huge tail later, and see if anyone could make a guess? His hair is pretty long and soft, and have tiny curls lol! Anyways, glad to be here, hope to see you guys around =) |

| Welcome to the forum. Mars looks pretty pure to me and most likely just has a bit of the wooly gene in him. Love the name combo btw. We have a few wooly sibes on the forum and they are real fluff muffins. _________________ |

| Hello and welcome to the forum! I fell in love with Hong Kong the one time I was there - which was in abut 1969 so things may have changed just a little. (( Okay, I've seen pictures, it's changed a lot!!! ))
You've got a couple of handsome pups there, but I'd tend to disagree with what I'm reading; but if anyone is a mix I'd say it was Ares, Mars just looks like a bit of a shaggy Husky. Then again in your picture with the cow Ares looks all Husky ... who's to say??
AH, let's see memories of Hong Kong; landing at the airport - no problem until that final zig-zag, that was weird! There's a garden / temple, I can't remember which, that was over run with monkeys. I can't remember then name nor does anything on the web ring a bell. Of course the young lady who was my guide for my R&R there is a very special memory. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| I'm not so sure about the wooly gene - I don't see any feathers, just fluffy face and tail. Maybe just a whiff but..he also doesn't have the ear tufts (outsid, not in) that Ami does. Both look pure to me...
Anyhoo...welcome. Your two are very handsome! |

| I get what Twister (Jenn) is saying...my Kohdi has a woolly brother, but Kohdi himself isn't a wooly, but has a super fluffy coat (and tail, haha, reminds me more of a Malamute tail) so while all the little wooly gene characteristics didn't fall into place for Kohdi, I think he got some of them (if it's possible, I'm not an expert on genes, or anything really, haha) btw, if anyone ever wants to see athe differences between a husky and a wooly husky from the same litter, I've got a pic of Kohdi's litter!
Anyways, lol, welcome!!! You have 2 beautiful huskies (and well behaved!!! My two couldn't have a treat laying in front of them even if it was just long enough to snap a pic! Haha) |

| Welcome to the forum. The are some handsome guys. I agree with everyone else, and lean with Al that it's Ares that may not look 100% husky, Mars just has some extra fluff, can't wait to see more pics. |

| Thanks for all the welcome guys! First time i'm hearing about this woolly gene, but maybe he does have some! Anyways, Ares does seem to be a little on the skinnier side, but he's currently 56 lbs, while Mars is only 50 lbs, but looks bigger due to his fluff. I don't know whether getting Ares neutered at 5 months is the cause that his chest hasn't filled out as much. We waited till Mars was around 10 months before we got him fixed. And Al, I wasn't even born when you visited HK, but its still pretty awesome place to live lol Here's a picture of Mars' tail, it is ridiculously out of proportion to his body but super cute. Haven't been able to get a picture of him with his tail up, the hairs spreads out even more and looks beautiful lol |

I think they're only a handful of people here who could relate to some of the things I've seen and done - y'all are just a bunch of young whipper snappers!!! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |
