| Not including a leash? Today, I was getting the hose out to train the pool cover - Ami was a good distance away, seemingly preoccupied. One pull of the hose from the hose reel and he came to me like a shot out of a cannon Seems he likes to drink from the hose - Wayne tells me everytime he washes a car these days, takes him twice as long 'cause Ami wants to drink the running water. Not thrilled - our hoses are rubber and not designed for drinking water... Then, this afternoon, I thought Ami was on his throne in the sunroom. I was serving ice cream and put a bit in a bowl for him - as I was bringing the the dish to the table for Wayne to serve it, the spoon started to fall out - I put the spoon in the ice cream and it clanged on the edge of the glass bowl...that's when I heard Ami's feet hit the floor - from our bedroom, I might add, and he came skidding around the corner to the kitchen. Earlier this week, Ami actually was sleeping on his throne. I was serving dessert - berries with whipped cream. Took the can out of the fridge, nothing. Served up the berries, nothing. Took the cap of the whipped cream can and squirted - paws hit the floor and pooch comes bounding up the steps into the kitchen - tail wagging, ears full forward, eyes lit up and sit. Oh so pretty And then, a few minutes ago - found Ami in our bed...again. I went to "chat" with him about this, he stretched out for a belly rub. Until Wayne took his keys off the board - that boy rolled over and leaped clear from the bed to the hall in anticipation...faster than I could say "what the..." So - what gets your pooch's attention? |

| I'm glad you already said it Amy, because I wouldn't have posted it otherwise because I don't want you all thinkin I'm a bad parent, haha...but the whip cream can will bring mine running from wherever they are.And string cheese!!! They hear me opening up string cheese and they are there.
And apparently the sound of the garage door opening and my car pulling in (according to the lady who takes care of them while I'm at work)

| Loki knows the sound of the tray being slide into the high chair. That's a bit annoying! Every time I try to feed Jack, Loki practically beats me putting Jack into the high chair. Jack spoils him rotten! It's "one bite for me, one bite for Loki (and now Banner)". |

| I have to agree with the whip cream can, the second she hears it she is sitting at me feet lol! Anytime I start to cook she lays right in the way of me, when I fluff the sheets in the air she jumps on the bed and does her controlled zoomies on the bed lol. hmm anytime I ask her if she wants a cookie she goes crazy, the sound of my keys she comes wooing thinking she's going too. I have so many she is my shadow and has to be anywhere I am or has to be watching me I have a stalker!!! |

| Another cool thread would be "What makes your husky go running from you?" LOL
For me it'd be...ear drops, saying "bath time" , and for Kohdi, coming towards him with his harness, haha |

| To come to me: Me going into the kitchen. Neither will take anything without permission, but if I drop something on the floor I give them permission ...
To Run away: Avalanche: coming toward him with a water hose or a brush. My perpetual puppy turns into a runaway! Sasha: Oddly, I can't think of anything that she's afraid of; I can run the vacuum right beside her ("Move damnit!"); she'll shy away from the hose if I'm spraying it in her direction, but then again she may just get under it! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Miya is a strange dog.....She goes nuts and runs even from a dead sleep for the jingling of keys, the words 4 wheeler, Uncle Justin, or go for a walk.
She runs from nothing except for if one of us says you want a spanking, lol, then she runs away with her whole butt and tail tucked under her. I have never spanked her, so how she would know I mean spank her butt, let alone what spank means I haven't a clue, but it is a roll on the floor laughing moment that I must capture on film.
Great and fun topic Amy!! |

| Jimmy - I was thinking of starting a thread "what does your husky say" I'm outta here" to For Ami - all I have to do is pick up a towel or the brush and we begin a game of "catch me if you can" I have a great picture that I call "Put down the towel and we'll talk" It's Ami standing under the kitchen table, head down and peering out from under the tablecloth. Then there is the clatter of metal pans etc falling - last night while water the garden, Ami came running up for a drink from the hose - he started to bite at the spray, I started to jiggle the spray (big mistake, BTW) he proceeded to have to zoomies all over the garden (and in the garlic bed ) - in the midst of his zoomies he managed to step in and tip over the huge stainless steel bowl I use for water for the dogs - it clanged on the rocks and he high-tailed it out of there PDQ - tail between his legs, a zillion mph down the path to the garages. |

| NOTHING! Not if he's loose anyways lol. In the yard and at home in general any 'come' command will work or anything involving food. Once, he got out of the yard (furniture movers didn't close our gates and I didn't notice) and he RAN! I literally had a hot dog weenie in his face and he didn't care. He wanted to explore our neighborhood alone lol. |

That is me <puts head down in shame> I didn't even realize I did it. I had friends over for a bbq and I was eating my hamburger, I took a bite and then broke off a piece for Kohdi and Mishka, my friends are staring at me with an amused look on their face but I don't know why and I start to think I have food hanging from my chin or something, lol, it was uncomfortable!! LOLOL ...finally one of my friends said " dude! No wonder you're so skinny, your dogs eat all your food!" Im like "huh?" And then they all go into how they've been watching me take a bite, then Kohdi and Mishka get a bite, I take another bite, then Kohdi and Mishka get another bite, hahaha. |

In another thread - you mentioned the sound of a cheese stick wrapper opening. Same thing hear - I use that to get the big boy in the house or off our bed when he is...less than compliant And another thing that both brings him running to the house and, once in the house, running away, looking for an escape: thunder or gunshots (people target shoot around us, actually, even my sun and husband) poor Ami - even now the thunder is rumbling and he has been pacing... |

| LOL Amy, the string cheese is fail proof for making dogs do what we want them to, haha. Mine though...its that canned whip cream! OMG! one time, I went into the garage, just so they wouldnt hear it (cuz I really dont feel "good" about giving them any ) and squirted the whip cream in my mouth (I live alone so Im ok with that, haha) LOL, open the door to come back in the house and BOTH of them are sitting like little soldiers right at the door |
