| I've been wanting to ask this here, when it rains…what do you all do when it's potty time for the pups? I don't have a covered yard but I do have a porch. Yesterday it was raining pretty bad but I didn't want Mylo to get really well outside but then he just slept and forgot about it and he let it out this morning. |

| Before we had a house with a fenced yard, I would put Mishka on a long leash and stand under our covered carport and let him go sniff and pee. Now he just runs outside to the driest spot to pee and runs back in the house. Lol.
I just keep a towel on hand when it's really wet to dry him off before he comes back inside but that doesn't always work... _________________ |

| When it's raining out mine usually refuse to go out which I will let go on until I'm about to leave or it's bedtime. At that time I promptly kick them out in it anyway then towel them off when they come back in. They might think and act like they will melt but I'm sure they won't. _________________ |

| Put on my rain gear and out I go - that was before the invisible fence. Now I just open the door - Ami prefers outside to in - I have to bribe him to come in. Then its a major dance with him, me and the towel |

| We live in an apartment. So we have to go out with him. I just put on rain boots and my jacket and suck it up. |

| Unless it's tornado weather, we so seldom get much rain and I go out with her (Avalanche will burst before *he* gets wet!). It's also nice that I have a water catchment roof that extends 15 feet (or so) beyond the back of the trailer so I don't have to get soaked just because she wants to go out. | I just let him out as always lol. If he has to pee, he has to pee (or poop) and he'll go outside either way. |

| What is this thing called "rain"? On the rare occurrence we have rain, I open the door and tell them to go pee pee, if they don't walk out on their own, I pick them up and set them out there...then they put their heads down and trudge to the side yard, go pee and Kohdi comes running back in...Mishka gets even with me. She makes me go outside and find her. |

| Well then cool, I just wanted to know what you all did in this situation, next time the rain is pouring I'll still take him out and make a game out of drying him lol |

| I go outside with him, no big deal. I mean it's just rain, not hydrochloric acid or anything like that. Besides it can be refreshing sometimes to get a cold shower for 30 seconds while your dog takes his/her sweet old time. The only exception is when there's a severe thunderstorm. In those cases I'll generally wait 30 minutes or so for the storm to pass unless Yukon really has to go. As far as drying off goes, I'll just let him hang around our mud room for a minute or so before letting him back upstairs if he got really wet. |

| If it is raining hard, I put them on a leash go out one at a time, use the command "go potty". Light rain, I let them go run around for a bit wipe their feet before they come in. If they have muddy paws I use the hose and towels. When they get all soggy and have that wet dog stink, I use my high velocity dryer..does the trick! Lol |

| Lol I guess I do make it sound easy..it usually isn't, with me ending up muddy and wet lol the trick is keeping a short leash on them so you can catch them when they don't want to be caught XD I also tie the leash to a pole so they can't run away when I need to hose their feet off it works! My dogs are weird they like..no love to get a towel thrown over them the go nuts and do the happy dance(spin in circles and flop) makes it soo much easier hah! |

| I grew up on a farm. There isn't really weather you avoid. Unless the hail is big enough to cause physical injury, there's a tornado coming (I'll still be rounding things up until the last minute), or it's -30F with whiteout conditions then you go outside. For hours when I was on the farm. Just taking a 5min walk through rainstorms now is so minor. Niji freaked the first time it rained. She was never taken outside before we got her. She charged over to the gate and refused to leave it to go potty. Now she charges out there straight into one of her craters to become mud puppy. |
