| I usually brush Anya, but for the past 3 days, life has been crazy (sorry excuse, I know) and I haven't done it. Last night we finally sat down for a deep brushing, and halfway through I saw the tell-tale black pepper spots of flea dirt. EW. Rolled her over to check her all over, and found 3 fleas, but I'm sure there are many more I ran out and got her flea killer tablets (the one that kills all fleas within 24 hours, but is not a preventative) and gave her a bath with flea killing shampoo. I dried her with our forced air dryer, and couldn't find nay more fleas, but still plenty of flea dirt. I'll wait until tonight to reapply Frontline (what she has always been on like clockwork). We also washed every linen/toy we could find in the hottest water possible. We're vacuuming constantly too. I just feel like the worst dog mom--I should have caught in sooner. And I'm annoyed Frontline didn't stop it--I guess since we relocated to Florida from PA, I was unprepared for how tough the bugs are here! Is there anything else I can/should do? |

| You might have to try a different flea preventative.
A lot of people down south use Trifexis, Comfortis, K9 Advantix II, etc.
You may also have to treat your yard in conjunction with a new flea preventative.
They are definitely really bad in some areas down here. _________________ |

| Also if you are giving her a Capstar, I'm not sure you should use your normal preventative immediately after as you may be double dosing her. Definitely ask your vet about that unless they said it was okay. _________________ |

| I was very scared to try anything after our bad experience with K9 advantix II...we kept seeing flea dirt on Mylo but we kept trying out other things but after I saw a tapeworm in my boys stool I had to act quick and at the vet I decided to get on Trifexis...it worked beautifully. Mylo had no bad reaction to it and after three hours of having the pill in his system..the bastard fleas started emerging, desperate and dying. I was having a blast looking at those things die.

| I personally use Trifexis but I know with all the bad media about it, people are afraid of it.
I have never used anything else and have never seen fleas on Mishka the 2.5 years he's been on it. _________________ |

| My two get fleas every year. It's just a part of living where we do and walking where we walk. My two get Comfortis and I usually just hope that any that jump on them at the park will bite and be dead before they have a chance to lay eggs. My parents use frontline and it works on ticks but it is laughably sad when it comes to warding off fleas. I keep a mixture of DE and Borax spread around the house for if any get dragged home and the Comfortis in the dogs system and usually don't have much more than a couple uncomfortable days during the worst part of flea season. _________________ |

I have never used anything else and have never seen fleas on Mishka the 2.5 years he's been on it. Yeah I was super nervous the moment I gave it to Mylo but I just covered it up with almond butter and hoped for the best. Thankfully it went really well so we will be sticking with Trifexis |
