| I just got my husky puppy not too long ago, and I just absolutely love her! Some people are telling me that they don't think she's purebred, but I honestly can't really tell the difference? A little help please! What do you think? |

| From this pic, to me, she looks all husky. The ears can get floppy like that when they are puppies. You didn't get to see the parents or get any kind of paper work on her? |

| Unfortunately, no. I was not able to obtain any paperwork or see the parents. The guy who gave her to me had to give her away because he couldn't keep her. Although, he did mention that he got her from "a friend of a friend".. So I was a little wary. Since then, I've been doing a ton of research on the breed and so far she fits the description well. It's great to have another opinion from someone who is a bit more educated on this! Thank you so much for you response! |

| I love her t-bar mask, so beautiful, yup she does look all husky, floppy ears should stand up in awhile, some are slower than others. |

| Well a friend of mine said that she's really small for her age. "Too small to be a husky," she said. The guy who gave her to me said she was 8 weeks at the time (about two weeks ago). That photo was actually taken today. Does she look about 10 weeks? Or did the guy who gave her to me lie about how old she was :/ |

| Pics are hard to tell at that age. How much does she weigh? I actually thought she looked large, and was going to ask Jimmy if he thought she may have malamute in her, since she looked so chunky and thick boned. Lol, what do I know, haha. Huskies are like people they come in a lot of sizes, especially as puppies, some are tiny and are quite big full grown, others are big as puppies and are tiny when full grown. This is my girl at 9 weeks old she was quite tiny, and is now above breed standard at around 60-65 pounds. Also her ears were standing at 6 weeks, but in this pic at 9 weeks one is still a little floppy. |

| lol she does look a little chunky in that photo, but it might be the angle. She's about 10-11lbs right now. Is that normal? BTW your dog is ADORABLE! |

| Huskies are unbelievably tiny at that age, and some stay smaller than others longer as well...I believe at 9 weeks old, my male weighed 11 lbs. my female was around 9 or 10 lbs. the ears, my females never flopped, while my male had standing ears and then flopped around the time he was teething, and they flopped big time, lol. My female has stayed on the small side, yours may...may not when you take her for her vet visit, the vet will be able to tell you if she needs to gain more weight or not, but just going by my experience, I'd say yours is right on track. |

Her mask is very Malamute-like. Huskies can have a full bar but I've seen it much more in malamutes. As she grows if she has Malamute in her it will become easier to spot in her ears and bone structure. I would continue forward with the assumption that she is full blooded but with the possibility of being a Mal cross as she ages and it's easier to tell. _________________ |

| Her bar mask is very much like DarkDiamond's "Wolf" in here, I think she will look a lot like him. She even seems to have light eyes like Wolf too. Jenn is right, at this age it's harder to tell, but as she grows, IF she is mixed, it will become more apparent. I'm still thinking full husky but time will tell. She is adorable! |

| Honestly, she just looks young. Like...really way too young to have been taken away from the litter. But from what you have stated on where you got her and the person you got her from got her, it wouldn't surprise me if she's only 5/6 weeks old.
It will be easier to tell when she's a little older and she starts to mature a bit. Though that last picture her ear set reminds me a bit more of a malamute than a husky. _________________ |

| I'm gonna go against the flow...don't really see malamute. She just seems to fine-boned. Malamutes seem so...blocky to me. She looks husky to me (but then, I'm no expert, either.)
here are some malamute pup pics: https://www.google.com/search?q=malamute+puppy&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=763&tbm=isch&imgil=ki7ctNZPOjCj5M%253A%253BTvQYsffXNDWUpM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.alaskanmalamute.net%25252Falaskan-malamute-puppies.htm&source=iu&pf=m&fir=ki7ctNZPOjCj5M%253A%252CTvQYsffXNDWUpM%252C_&usg=__BsnQQdzUynyaWxkufUfhxcJEhrc%3D&ved=0CC0Qyjc&ei=1p5bVa6BM4HFogTa0YGYBg#imgrc=ki7ctNZPOjCj5M%253A%3BTvQYsffXNDWUpM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.alaskanmalamute.net%252Fconan3.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.alaskanmalamute.net%252Falaskan-malamute-puppies.htm%3B288%3B384 |

| I think you'll have to pick and choose on those pictures, there are at least a couple there who look to be all sibe not malamute. Like you, I'm no expert by any stretch but that ear set on Malamute is, in part, a defining feature for me. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |
