| Hi guys, my 2mo. old puppy named Darla, keeps on biting things even my own foot. Another issue is she never stops barking whenever I leave her. Do you have any ideas/suggestions to stop her from doing those actions? |

| Sounds like a puppy to me! I hope you did your research!
Huskies are VERY high energy and Very vocal!
When Shelby was a pup she LOVED to chew! So we would get a small towel wet, freeze it, and give it to her. It would numb her gums so they didn't hurt her while her teeth came in.
As for the barking and talking. . . sometimes ignoring the noise works. If you constantly talk to them or tell them to be quiet or to shush, you are only giving them attention and reinforcing their habit. |

| For the biting, I'd use a distract and redirect method of some sort. When she bites things she's not supposed to like your feet I'd issue a quick verbal correction, ignore the behavior and give her something more appropriate to chew on. The frozen towel is a good idea for teething pups, you can also give other chew toys or edible chews for her to sink her teeth into. Praise her for chewing things that she's supposed to chew on so she knows what she's supposed to do.
It's hard to correct behavior when you're not home to experience it. I'd definitely reward the silence whenever she gives it to you. How long are you leaving her when you do leave? Have you tried leaving a radio or TV on when you leave for background noise? Do you make sure to exercise/tire her out before leaving? Also do you leave her with something to occupy her mind while you are away, such as plenty of toys, a puzzle toy, a long lasting safe chew, or a filled frozen Kong? _________________ |
