| Hi, everyone. I got my little pup about two weeks ago, and I've been trying to house break her. She's very playful and lovable, but she doesn't seem to get the concept that she needs to do her business outside. I take her out every hour, every time she wakes up from her naps, and after playtime. She does go pee when i take her outside, and I kinda have a tell when she needs to go poop and so I take her out, and 10 minutes later, still hasn't pooped; And once we get into the house she goes and poop... Also about the peeing thing, she does pee outside when I take her out very often, but she pees onside the house as well.
Thank you in advance and hopefully you guys can give me tons of tips. I would really appreciate it. Btw, my dogs name is Elsa. I'm still trying to figure out how to upload pictures, so once I figure it out, I'll post some. |

| Sounds like she has too much freedom right now. I would keep her tethered to you at all times indoors so that you can catch her in the moment it happens.
Are you crate training her?
What are your reactions when you catch her in the act? |

| Thanks for the reply. And yes, I would say she has too much freedom... I'll work on that. And every time I catch her in the act, I immediately pick her up and take her outside. In some cases, I'm just a little late in catching her. And, yes, I am crate training her, barely... I still need to work on that aswell. And in regard to having too much freedom, what can you recommend I do, to minimize any accidents... Thank you! |

| Keep her tethered to you or on leash at all times, don't let her run around, and crate train her, for real. |

I'm still trying to figure out how to upload pictures, so once I figure it out, I'll post some. I struggled with Potty Training in the first week or so, Snowie is fairly controlled now, but when I first got him he used to save his pee just so he could spot pee all over the house. What I did was reward him profusely when he went where I wanted him to. Usually in the form of treats or kibble. He does his business on the side of the house on a rocky patch. When I catch him in the house he receives a firm 'No' or 'Stop' and then me lifting him and taking him straight outside, if he goes again outside, he gets a treat, if not then he is not rewarded. Additionally, reducing freedom, by leashing the pup either to yourself or a confined spot where you can catch them helps a great deal. From what you have said you are already regimenting your pups bathroom breaks which is great. The only other addition I have made is to say "Do you need to go to the bathroom" as I carry the pup out after an accident. After a few weeks I have noticed that asking the question now, will actually bring Snowie straight to the garage door if he has to go. Hope this helps. |

| This puppy is 8 weeks old. You need to have some patience. There is no accurate bladder control until 6 months. Right now she is little and can't hold it. It will happen in time, not overnight. |
