| Hey everyone, excited to say that my wife and I will be rescuing a beautiful Pure bred Husky this upcoming Saturday! We currently have a young German Shepherd and Im really hoping they'll love eachother like brothers! Juneau will be somewhere around 2 years young when we go to rescue him. I can't explain how excited and nervous I am to get the little guy. I do have quite a few questions for start-up care, so if anyone would be open to answering some basic questions, i'll go ahead and shoot them off here pretty soon! Looking forward to posting often and frequently with updates of baby Juneau. Again, really excited, happy to be a part of the club Lol |

| Welcome! I love Montana so much! I really want to get my husband up to Glacier, and I have to say that drive from Great Falls to Glacier is probably the most beautiful I've ever seen Good luck integrating Jeauneau into your pack, we have several members here who are active with Husky rescues, and we're all happy to help you make that integration easier. Have you done a meet and greet at all with your GSD? _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. Have you done a meet and greet at all with your GSD? No we haven't had the chance, where we're getting Juneau is 4.5 hours away from Great Falls, up in Thompson Falls lol so its a bit of a drive, but i plan to have them meet on neutral ground. Theres a park right by our house that our GSD Kaiser hasnt been to yet so this should be fine. Going to slowly and gradually bring them into the house together. It shouldn't be too bad but it will take some time. |

| Sounds like you have a good plan, just be patient and be ready to deal with some behavioral issues as they get used to each other. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | No problem. It's all expected lol I will keep updated for sure. Look out for more info Saturday night. Possibly a few videos of him, not sure yet. I do have a question about a harness for Juneau. I know he can most likely get out of a step in one so I want either an x back or one with a good handle and good material. Were going to petco tomorrow to get a temporary one. More info on that, we do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities. I want him to pull on a long lead to get him ready for some pulling eventually so an anti pull harness would be counter productive. Anyways, open to suggestions! Thank you |

| Look at Ruffwear stuff for harnesses. They're a bit pricey, but very good. We have the Palisades packs for both ours, and for daily use I just use the harness without the pack. I also have x-backs from Alpine Outfitters and love them as well. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
