I have what I think is a Husky/greyhound mix. We got him last October. He was doing ok (well sort of he was a bit high strung) until after we came back from being away at Christmas. He had a good dogsitter stay (and she had stayed before) and I had his trainer come by twice in the week we were gone, so I don't think it was that. He was actually ok until after new years when the fireworks were going off all night. He was a wreck.
Not long after I tried to brush him, and he started snarling at me. I got a new soft brush and he wont even let me use that. He now growls whenever we pet his body, and sometimes even when we pet his face, even if he seems to be asking to be petted. At the same time he also went off his food. He used to scarf it up, then he went to not eating, and now he eats some, but not the same way he used to eat. I used to take him to the dog park all the time, the last two times he got very aggressive growling and so now I can't even do that.
I went to the vet and she checked his teeth and bloodwork, she is at a loss and put him on Prozac and xanex. We try to use the xanex sparingly. He is been on Prozac for about 3 weeks and doesn't seem much different. he trainer suggested we train him when he gets anxious, which helps some. We also got him a cage, which he wont go in, and a thundervest, which he wont go near.
Anybody have any ideas?
