| Hi there,
I have been raw feeding my husky for about 6 months now and am a bit concerned. She seems very lethargic and sleeps a lot.... I always thought when doing research they were very active and like to run but she won't even jog - she prefers to walk....
She has been on heat for a month so might be affected by this but I was wondering if this could be down to nutrition? I make sure she gets around 5% kidney, 5% liver, 10-20% bone and rest chicken/red meat (beef/lamb) a week roughly. I also mix in a bit of carrott and yogurt sometimes and sometimes give her treats from the pet shop. I also add a little kelp powder and salmon oil to each feed.
Basically I am just wondering if this is normal with a year old? She just surprises me how calm she is....
Any opinions welcome.... (I know that dogs can be different depending on breeder/parents too as her mum was calm) |

| Hi. It sounds like you're giving her a great balance and I know the kelp had a lot of good vitamins. I seem to remember my boy going through a phase around that age where he was super mellow and slept all the time. They are kind of hitting their last growth phase. It could also have to do with her being in heat. You could change up the proteins, try turkey instead of chicken, and maybe add some pork. Also, where do you live? Are you in the southern hemisphere? If summer is starting it could be the seasonal change. |

| This doesn't sound like a food related problem...or really a problem at all. You didn't mention whether your sibe has always been on the mellow side or if this is a new development. _________________ |
