| I bet! My Glory came to us at 3 yrs of age and her teeth were unbelievably awful! Even after her dental they still have brown staining on them but they are getting better slowly but surely, they look a little better than Odin's right now but they have this mottled white/brown pattern to them. Just awful that such young dogs have horrible tooth decay. _________________ |

| LOL I take a lot and i'm a real perfectionist when it comes to my hobbies... I got a new camera for my birthday in December. It's a Canon Rebel Xsi DSLR I LOVE it! I swear the camera really helps because you gain so much more control of your pictures. I also read a lot of photography theory books which helped. You are way too nice Claudia! _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| I've been looking for DSLR camera...Do you like yours? Is it really bulky for a DSLR?
I love my little Cannon portable camera, but I want a 'nice' camera to play with editing the pictures to have some fun...

| I like my DSLR but I wish I would have springed for a better model but this will last me for some time. There are a lot of "bridge" cameras (I think Val has one) that's better than a P&S but under a DSLR.
I love the feel of my camera but it is much different than a small P&S. The feel is very different. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

The Canon Rebel is no more bulky than the Nikon DSLRs really. But DSLR's are a lot more bulky than standard point and shoots for sure. If you do get a DSLR learn how to use it because they're not meant to be put on "Auto" and used as a P&S. My hubby is also an amateur photographer by hobby and involved in the field a bit. If you're looking for a serious DSLR Nikon is where it's at, Canon is better for the point and shoot category. My hubby owned a Canon Rebel XSi a few years ago and while it does take good pictures as you've seen, the Nikon's take even better pictures and really don't cost much different. I have pictures from both my hubby's Canon Rebel XSi and his Nikon D90 and the Nikon steals the show every time. There are several issues with the Canon DSLR's that most amateurs won't pick up on if they're not looking at all aspects of the photo...there is so much that goes into photography it's intimidating. Believe me, my hubby has tried many times to coach me and it always makes my head spin. Anyway, I try not to point out the issues with the Canon DSLR's on other peoples' pictures because I don't want them to feel like I'm picking on them or their photos and also because most people posting on places like this are not asking for constructive criticism...but believe me, I notice and so will other photographers! - arooroomom wrote:

Yep, I have a Canon S90. It's technically a P&S but it is one of those that takes better quality than the average P&S but lower quality than a DSLR. It's a nice trade off for people like me who want great quality pics but are not that into serious photography. My hubby likes my S90 for times when it would be good to have a quality camera but lugging around his bulky DSLR would be too much of a hassle. _________________ |

| Thanks Val! I'll need to remember the Canon S90 in the future.
I've tinkered with photography before, and loved my Nikon but then slowly dropped the hobby because it was slowly becoming too expensive.
I'll probably come back around and ask again when I get to the point of buying a camera, but for now, the little Cannon portable I have will suffice...

I couldn't do that to you, I'd feel bad. Definitely would never call your pics out publicly. _________________ |
