| Hi all, I wasn't very active on this site, after my beautiful Siberian guy was diagnosed with cushings. Then a tick bit him, and he had a horrible tick disease ...I had to almost argue with our vet about that because he had every symptom (high fever, drooling, spontaneous nosebleed, rear-end paralysis) but we did manage to put him on doxycycline to fight that. Still, our vet could not diagnose his problem -- he tested negative on tick disease but it did not cover all possible tick diseases. I did suspect Ehrlichia or something like that. Anyway, he also had a huge mass on his right side, a huge one. And he was almost 10 yrs old. So when he started failing really bad, couldn't get up, couldn't drink, couldn't eat ...we had to do what we thought best. We found a veterinarian who made house calls in our area, and she put him down, comfortably, in our (his) own home.
I miss you, Tundra, and thank you for being the best dog I have ever known. |

| I'm so sorry for your loss Annie, and also that you had to deal with so many health issues towards the end of his life. |

| So sorry you had to make that call, and that Tundra had to suffer towards the end. May he be pain free and running over the bridge now. _________________ |

| Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts Also I do want to mention that our veterinarian is a very good and knowledgable. (I said above that I practically had to argue with her about the tick disease -- poor choice of words ...it's just that he had all of the symptoms but tested negative). Tundra made me fall in love with siberians. I just love the breed! We are looking for a new pup to help heal the hole in our hearts. We have so much love to give now. We are looking at Malamute pups as well, but it will probably be siberian pup that will win our hearts in the end. Thank you all again for your kind replies. |

| Oh wow! I'm sorry I missed this thread. I'm so sorry for your loss as well. My first siberian Tasha made me fall in love with the breed. When it finally came time to get another dog, I thought about several different breeds, but really just couldn't picture life without a siberian. I can totally relate to Tundra making you fall in love with the breed. There is a great breeder in western texas that I don't personally know, but I do know a couple of the breeders their foundation is from. Anyway, let me know if you are interested and I will send you their name. I'm so sad for you, but happy you were able to have a vet come to your home, that makes all the difference. |

| I'm sure Tundra and Tasha are chasing each other over the bridge and will be wooing a welcome when our time comes. |

| My condolences on your loss. In your avatar, Tundra looks like a big, happy guy. Took me many, many years to get another dog after my girl, Sasha, died. Now, I have Ami and am so glad!
