| Hey everyone, My name is Mike and I am now the owner (and being owned) of a beautiful 9-week old baby girl husky (got her a week ago). Sadly, I haven't quite figured out her name yet It's been awfully hectic, but I have narrowed it down to either Kira or Sora. Both names seem to fit her quite well (and I'm not one to name until I get to see the personality a bit.. although I think I am well over that part). It has been a hectic week for sure! But I am so glad I found these forums because I feel I'll get the right advice here and the help that I'm clearly needing lol. But let me get things straight first.... This isn't my first time owning a husky. Three years ago I brought home a beautiful Gray and White baby girl which I named Zoe. Oh she was a ton of work but I had so much passion for it that I endured and she turned out to be my best friend and in a way, my kid. I loved her so much and she was the best dog I could have asked for. Good with the kids and other people, always wanting to be around me, never chewing up the house and the list goes on. Sadly, on September 21 she passed away suddenly. The vet said she took some bad seizures that she couldn't recover from. They couldn't pinpoint it for sure though, but it was the hardest thing I've had to witness. I still get emotional and have outbursts over it. Anyway..... It has been three months and a lot of friends and family thought it would be good for me to have another baby girl in my life. So, here I am and after a week I am wrecked lol. I forgot so many things when raising Zoe and how exhausting it can be, but I want to get things right. So I've come here to get the best advice I think I can get. The new baby comes from Lauradale Kennel here in PA. She is the niece of Shorty from the Disney movie Eight Below. I will say though that it has been an emotional week and I have been up and down over keeping her because of the emotions I still carry with Zoe. In the end though, I think doing this is the right decision. If I can keep my sanity! I don't want to post all my questions and concerns here, but I will make a thread in the training forum and hope that I can get some help. I see everyone here enjoying their babies and all the great pictures and it reminds me that it is all worth it once you get through the initial stages. Thank you for reading! Hope to meet lots of new folks! Here are some pics of Kira/Sora and Zoe: The New Baby: Zoe: |

| I'm so sorry that you lost your Zoe at such a young age. She was truly gorgeous! I can't imagine the pain that you must have gone through (and are going through). Mya is my princess and even though now we have Kody the love that I have for her will never be compared to. I love her so much! You'll grow to love your new baby girl just the same though and she'll love you just as much as Zoe did. I'm sure that you're a great daddy! |

| Welcome!
My condolences on the loss of Zoe. I'm sure the as yet unnamed little bundle of trouble is keeping you on your toes. I go through a "what have I done?" phase with every addition around here. |

| Aww, thank you all so very much. You all have such beautiful huskies!
Zoe was definitely a huge part of my life and I tried to honor her in many ways. She meant a lot to me and my family and I only hope this new fur ball will give some of that feeling back.
Haha, yes I am going through the "what have I done" phase at the moment. Can be quite exhausting!
I really appreciate all of your comments and I look forward to speaking to all of you on this wonderful site! |

| Welcome! I'm from bucks county pa, now in CO. I'm sorry for your loss, we have lost a few great huskies/dogs on here this last year and it was hard for all of us as we become so attached to everyones pups here, feel free to add her to our rainbow bridge section.
I think your family and friends knew what they were doing when they suggested a new pup,she will never replace zoe but she will fill other areas of your heart and we are here to helpe you out along the way. _________________ |

| I too, am very sorry about Zoe These things are never easy and suddenly just leaves a hole in your heart that will never heal. My heart goes out to you and your family, although I hope your new baby brings you some peace that only a husky can bring Welcome to the forum! Koda didn't have a name for about a week when we got him We like to do the same thing and wait for their personalities to show Hailey got a name quicker, but only because she was already about 2.5 years old when we got her. We changed Haidy, to Hailey because they sound so similar. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Thank you all! It's so nice to be joined by such passionate husky owners. jbealer - Wow, Bucks county! That's way on the eastern side haha. I'm in Cambria County. How do you like Colorado? I should put something up under the Rainbow Bridge section. I did a lot to honor her and maybe when I get some time I can go post all of that in there. Looking forward to being a part of this wonderful community |

Colorado is great but I do miss PA in the fall. We still have all our family back there. _________________ |
