Hello i am new to this site but after alot of reading on other posts i believe i have found a place where i may be able to get some advice. So i now have 2 huskies (my pure Siberian husky Shadii who ive had over 2 years now and My new addition Sully who has come into our lives just a week ago who i believe is a mix between Husky and a GSD). Now here is a problem i have. Shadii ive had alot of trouble training since she was a pup. Shes very strong willed and extremly stubborn but with time and patience ive gotten her to be able to do the basics (sit, lie down, stay, fetch and shake) but she hasnt mastered them and will really only do them if she absoloutly knows shes getting a treat out of the deal. now the biggest challenge ive ever had with her is leash walking and i have done everything i can think of consistently for close to 2 years now and to no improvement. she pulls hard and she has escaped out of my enlosed yard about 4 times now (i live on a little over an acre thats fully gated) and takes about 45 mins to chase her down and get her back. Sully while ive only had him a week (he was a rescue) has mastered his leash and i can walk him with a 30ft leash but he will never go more than 10 ft from me. I have read almost every book, watched almost every video and still nothing i try is working with Shadii but that still doesnt keep me from walking her almost every day but its an exhausting and sometimes painfull work out. Ive tried tiring her out by chasing a ball across the yard for almost 2 hours to no avail, ive tried to train with the red light green light method to no avail, ive tried treats and snaks but she ignores them completely, i am running out of ideas with her on this one any info or advice would be very much appreciated. thank you

Welcome to the forum. Is it possible to have the two tire each other out, without escaping your control? that should be half the battle if you can. The other advice I have would be to get a harness for your husky when walking or a belt harness so you have the pulling at your mid section vs your arm. There are some reviews and recommendations here and if you use the search option you should find some threads on leash training.

Brick used to pull like crazy to the point where I felt he would drag me if I ever tripped. Then I got this harness and live by it: http://www.petsafe.net/easywalk

It latches on the front so if she tries to run, she'll just be forced to turn around. It has made walking my dog much more pleasant. Other tips would be to teach him to walk next to you with the heel command. This takes a lot of work, but in junction with at harness and loads of patience, she'll get it. Basically hold a treat next to you while walking and extend the time you give her that treat until she understands that walking next to you = a good thing.

Also, how is she escaping your fenced in yard?
