| Sometimes while playing with toys Bandit will whine or cry. Is this normal? I think she just really likes the toy?
Sometimes when she is sitting she will be bent over. Almost like bowing and looking at me all sad and scared? Idk why but she does that and it makes me feel like she is scared of me
Sometimes she will look like she is afraid of me just doing whatever. Like if I walk towards her sometimes randomly her tail will tuck and she will run and hide. I reach for her and most of the time she is fine but sometimes she looks afraid. As stated above it is random when these occurrences happen |

| The whining is normal when playing, they're like a kid who talks to himself when they're playing. Husky's are vocal dogs, often much more so than others.
I'm going to let someone else tackle the second part of your question. I'm prompted to ask way too many questions .... _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Because it's not really normal for a puppy to be afraid of it's owner and (generally sole) companion. And I'm not the best when it comes to being tactful. For example, she's just run and tried to hide from you. How do you verbally and physically respond. Raised voice? Grab and drag? My questions would tend to indicate that I think there is something going on with which she is uncomfortable and the only way I can really respond well - from my viewpoint - is to ask awkward questions. Best to let someone who's more diplomatic field that. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Pm if you feel its too awkward in the thread. She adores me. She follows me anywhere as soon as I leave a room. We have fun playing together. Maybe it's the way I approach her? Like if I'm walking too loudly? Or staring her in the eyes? I think sometimes she did something bad? |

| Let's try this. Dogs, like people are territorial, they do not like to have their space invaded. Now if you're the typical roughly 6 foot tall human and walk up and lean over a puppy they're quite apt to run. You're big, you've taken a dominant stance (by leaning over them) and they're not comfortable - run!!! I use this when I working with my dogs, if I don't like what they're doing, I'm apt to walk right up on them, inches away. They have two choices, get aggressive or back off. Most of the time they back off.
Ditto staring them down - that's generally taken as outright aggression.
You have a brother, I think you said in one message, try walking into his comfort zone (with most people that's about 3 feet) and whether he consciously does it or not, he'll step back. Same idea with a dog - if she's uncomfortable with you invading her space, she'll leave. While we're on the topic of your brother, set and stare at him and see how long it takes before he asks "What's with you?" or words to that effect, after about a minute it becomes very uncomfortable. In both of these examples we humans and dogs respond pretty much the same way.
If she's showing signs of fear, from my viewpoint the best thing to do is leave her alone. She'll come out when she's comfortable, by forcing the issue you're only giving her more reason to be nervous. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Gotcha, it's pretty obvious I've never had my own dog just other peoples to play with and watch occasionally. So there's a lot of questions that may seem basic lol I know she's not scared of me. Right now she was tired of playing and came over to lay next to me and now she's sleeping |

| Not a problem ask away, there may be some I pass on because I'm not comfortable I can give a good answer for sundry reasons.
Thanks for filling out your profile, it gives me the opportunity to tease you. The county I live in (Brewster County, Texas) is three times the size of the state of Delaware. How do y'all live up there without tripping all over each other?? _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

Chances are she is picking up on some change in you in these moments as you have mentioned. My male does something similar if we move through the house with a very quick and direct purpose. It freaks him out and he thinks something is wrong. This is also a dog that runs the opposite direction if something loud is dropped. Always reassure her in these moments, show her there is nothing to be worried about and work on desensitizing her to the world as she ages. With experience comes bravery. _________________ |

| My Jenn and Al gave great advice, my addition is you may be talking to her too loudly and may think you are scolding her. When my husband yells, not necessarily at her, and more so when she was younger she'd tuck tail, talking to her in a calm soothing voice and appear at her level from time to time may help. Desensitizing is quite important as in loud cars etc., but in the home talking in a calm tone, especially while she is a baby will help. You do want to build confidence, so she is not a fearful dog. |

| I agree moreso with Renee. Of the four dogs I have had as an adult on my own, two were submissive and two were born with their heads held high. For the more submissive two, I think taking them lots of places and exposing them to as much as possible to build their confidence is key. I would do things like treating the dogs and getting them to come out in uncomfortable situations.
Personally, I don't know if I would try to over manage the environment too much. One example is I have a teenage girl living in my house. Yes, things can get busy and loud when all her friends come over, so my dogs need to get use to that and feel confident to get involved and be included in the mix. For both my submissive dogs, having kids who tend to be louder play with them and train them with tricks seemed to help a lot. |
