So for a while mishka was doing rather well with her behavior problems,but now were back to square one with almost everything.I'm not sure what to do.recently I was doing a late night run with her and an owner and her dog were walking by, I walked across the road with mishka and then she noticed the dog and she was yipping and growling.she's never acted that bad before.I called my vet and he said that there was nothing I could do but keep her home all the time, certainly there is something I can do. I've noticed she's most aggressive towards small animals but this dog wasn't a small dog and she's developed some dog aggression. Is there anything I can do to help get rid of dog aggression or is it not fixable. I'm afraid if I don't get this fixed it could end bad please help me, she's never been like this until recently. Also she's been spending a lot if time in her crate lately, usually when I'm home she's next to me or out playing with her toys.I've also noticed she doesn't sleep in bed with me either she prefers her crate or in the corner of my room.another thing is shes started eating plastics, she's went through two dog dishes. Does any of that have to do with her aggression.

I think in another post you said you had a couple other, older, dogs in the household? How does she do with them? I don't remember if you said she is fixed or not, either. Dog aggression is a strange thing and difficult to "fix", but it can be managed. Did you ever find a trainer? Going through a good trainer can really help you get to the root of her issues even if you can't afford a professional trainer for an extended period of time. I had a profession for several months until I simply couldn't afford it anymore, but in that time I learned a lot of techniques and solved where my dog's issues stem from.

Has Mishka had any other dog interactions since you've had her that were good? Dog park, vet, a friend's dog? The destruction of plastic is most likely a frustration thing, either from not enough exercise, discipline, or if it's after encountering a dog-excitement.

My trainer had me shore up on obedience training. We did drills of heel, sit, down, stay, finish, long stays and come with high value treats. We drilled these into her for weeks with just one dog at a distance and gradually worked up to having other dogs in the area, though never loose with her, to desensitize her to other dogs and it did help. It didn't cure her aggression, but it made her manageable when crossing paths with other dogs. Dog aggression is time consuming and really requires a ton of commitment to deal with, but it can be managed. Depending on the cause of Mishka's aggression though will make the difference on if it can be "fixed". Kenzi's aggression stems from leash reactivity. When she is off leash the issues aren't as great because she knows she has the option to protect herself. If Mishka was being trained initially for fighting or guard use it's possible that nerves could play a big part into her reactions toward dogs. It's also very possible she is becoming over excited when she is seeing dogs and inadvertently lashing out.

She is fixed and shes more dominant with the older dog in the house. She's had a few interactions with other dogs that were pretty good until a week ago, that's when shes became a terror to other dogs. I havent had much luck with a trainer but I have a family friend who's had many years of husky experience,I've been talking to her about it she hasn't replied back lately. I've been running her,playing with her and giving commands still so nothings changed as far scheduling. Is it possible for her to start getting over excited all the sudden? Like I said she just randomly started doing this a few weeks ago. Also yes she was abused the shelter said the owners were trying to make her mean.I think part of the problem is where she got attacked by a neighbors dogs .I may try the desensitizing thing with a friend who has a calm dog,mishka is starting to listen better so I may try it. If the neighbor dog attack was somewhat recently that could definitely trigger a change in her. Anytime a dog, or even a person for that matter, is attacked it brings out a vulnerability that wasn't there before that will take time and good vibes to get past.

Thats what I figured,I took her for a long run and she heard a dog barking,she went nuts for a bit but I got her across the street and had her sit and she did.that had calmed her down quite a bit,maybe I've gotten on the right track...again. Thanks you've been so much help.
