I suppose enough time has passed since I got Doom that a scrapbook is warranted.

Here he is as a puppy, these are photos from the folks we purchased him from, so I'm not sure his exact age in these:





Right before I got him:


First week home, he was 13/14 weeks:







And, currently, at 4 and a half months(5 months on September 10th)... His coat has darkened quite a bit!

His first trip to the dog park! Got multiple of the whole, "Oh, is he part wolf?" today. I assume from folks who don't realize husky's aren't all black and white/gray.

I agree with Jenn, that's the, "I was about to poop, but then smelled/saw/wanted/noticed something and I forgot" pose.

I think you're probably right! He did get distracted, and he had also JUST pooped, maybe he forgot and then realized it, lol.

I think he figured out that it's easier to dig holes when it's muddy! grreeaat!

We used to live in an apartment with lots of foreigners, and the "Is that a wolf?!" question was incredibly common with Achilles.

Indeed, one in particular followed it with "Oh, I've never seen a husky that color" so that's why I just assumed someone not familiar with red huskies could be thrown off and wonder if they are mixed. Makes sense, I guess.

It does make sense. Our guy looks more brown than red, which may add to the confusion.

We also got "Your dog is rare, you should breed him!" and "So, are you going to breed him with all of the female dogs in the building?" oO People are crazy...

That's what I was thinking! It took a lot for me not to laugh at the guy. He was relatively nice to me, but kinda rude to others, I found out later.

Yeah! It's funny because Achilles started dark and lightened up, and Doom looks like he did the opposite! I love the unpredictability of huskies! ;D

Not a good picture by any means, but, just a little tracking of his growth since I've had him.

Left side is the day I got him, at 3 and a half months. And right, is today at (in a few days, technically) 5 months. He's darkened up and grown quite a bit in that short time! He's definitely looking lanky although the photo doesn't quite show it. Those bat ears are actually not as drastic in person! His coat is getting thicker by the day it seems and he's just starting to look a little more grown up every day. He's my handsome little dude.




Also, he just can't get enough of his new toy giraffe.

Wow what a difference. He is getting all grown up.

He has a vet appt tomorrow and I'll find out. He was 28.7 at his last visit 4 weeks. I'm sure he's probably put on 12-15 pounds.

Well, clearly I have no idea what I'm talking about. He's currently 35 pounds. My guess was a bit off, haha.

Yeah it is so hard to tell.

Riley went from 4.8 KG to 5.6 is about a week, and I could not tell the difference. If you think about it as a percentage that is a huge increase.

Anyway, Doom is gorgeous at any weight.

It's true, I mean he did gain nearly ten pounds but just based off percentage that would be basically a third, which is a huge increase.

And Riley is awesome looking as well! He's gonna be a handsome SOB. If I manage to talk the lady into gettingr another Sibe to accompany Doom, I would really love a sable. (Though she wants a black and white. Arggh!)

Just seems like he gets bigger and fluffier every day!

Morning walk


One of those rare moments of being good

The teddy in the bowl was just too good. What a cutie.

Play date with a friends German Shepherd at the dog park today, currently on tour with my band so I wasnt there but the fiancee sent me some pics and videos. We are terribly obsessed with our dog.

He will be six months on October 10th. Still just a baby but he's growing up fast. I think he's gonna get pretty big..

Indeed, My girl was about the same at six months as she is now, she has filled out some, but her height and weight has been about the same, So she always has looked "adult" even as a baby, lol. Funny how they grow.

Returned from tour last night and he's gained some height! And 5 pounds when my fiancée had him weighed last week. Currently at 40 lbs. his growth plates are still quite prominent (as seen below) so I think he's still got some growing to do. 6 months old as of the 10th. Growing up too fast!
