Do your pups have weird food tastes? Ami goes nuts over frozen peas - still frozen! Loves them.
And last night, while I was making dinner and husband was...attempting to read the paper, Mr. Ami was all over him. Then jumping up and putting his paws on the table, clearly asking for something. When shooed down, he would put his nose up there and give a longing sad, puppy dog "please, dad?" look. We couldn't figure out what he wanted. There was a nectarine in the middle of the table left from son's lunch - I thought Mr. Dog thought it was a ball and wanted to play - nope. I ended up cutting up a few slices into small chunks, giving the bowl to husband with a cocktail fork and...you got it. Mr. Dog loved and savored every last bite! Who woulda thunk it

Ha ha. Yes Ami is weird but so is Dizzy. I can't think of anything really odd that he loves, because he almost loves everything... But, he absolutely abhors pretzels. You'd think it was a crunchy, salty snack to a dog right? Not in this house. Diz will beg, because we are eating something, but as soon as I give him one and he realizes what it is, he spits it right out with a disgusted look on his face. He gives me an annoyed look, and walks away doing his big dramatic plop on the floor on the other side of the room.

I love this...when Ami gets something he doesn't like, he just opens his mouth and lets it fall out. It's hysterical. (Probably because once, about a year ago, we were eating and I got something I really did not like and, to my husband's amused amazement - I did just that, opened my mouth and let it fall - to my plate of course. I have some couth )
Pretzels You'd think he would love those!

That is so funny! Diz kind of flips it up in the air with his tongue. Once, when I took him to work, my boss was trying to be friendly with him and gave him a peanut butter pretzel. Diz promptly spit it out and gave the boss a dirty look. I had completely forgotten he hates pretzels.

I don't know if it's that weird, but Saber loved uncooked pasta whether it be spaghetti, macaroni, etc.

Karma absolutely loves PICKLES!! She starts jumping around in circles and barks all crazy for pickles.
Kato, just sniffs them and walks away. The first time i ever gave them pickles was hilarious. Kato ate it, but then made the weirdest sour face. I wish I would of captured it on video.

That reminded me, when Dizzy was a puppy he loved oranges. As soon as someone started to peel an orange he'd be begging. Then he'd take it over to his rug and talk to it while pacing around it in circles. I think I have a video of that somewhere.
Yep... Here it is. God he was CUTE!!!

That's funny! My husband spilled a box once and a couple pieces rolled under the couch. One night Diz was obsessed with getting something under there. I thought he had hidden a bone. It was just a tiny piece of macaroni!

Lycus goes absolutely nuts when he sees me pop a yogurt out of the fridge. A couple of days ago, I swear he was completely passed out on the kitchen floor. Then I pull out a yogurt, he's still a sleep, then I pop open the lid and I see his eyes wide open staring at me, followed by him running towards me and begging for some lol.

Mishka loves everything but he absolutely LOVES apples. I cannot eat an apple without sharing most of it with him.

This is fun reading about the preferences of dogs - like people, all have their unique tastes. Pickles - who woulda thunk it Not like pretzles?!!?
Discovered a new one for Ami - and we are NOT going to tell hubby about it
Last week, while vacuuming, Mr. Ami slipped through the laundry room door - I caught him upstairs, wary of the ceiling fan over his head and really not sure about coming down the stairs (they are steep). I coax him down, that was that. A few days later, noticed pieces of hard candy strewed around the living room - figure the little boy was into the candy dishes. Fast forward to this morning - taking Ami for his walk, I forgot my hat so, since he usually just waits at the door, I let go of his leash, went back, got a hat and...there's Ami: up on the pale blue couch, muddy feet and all, face in the candy bowl He sees me coming, leaps over the coffee table to the pale blue love seat before I grab him by the scruff...and there's pieces of hard candy strewn about the floor.
So now I know he likes hard candy. And why most of the pictures on this forum show couches shrouded in blankets/slipcovers etc.

Oh Amy! That's hilarious!!! Yes, that is why we have a slip cover on our couch. Diz seems to love to jump up most when he has muddy paws...

Reading some of the reactions of all everyone's Huskies is funny!!! Ms. Frigga, what does she not beg for??? She LOVES uncooked pasta. I swore that she was Italian like us. A box comes out and she is sitting right there until it is opened. She talks to you and stares at the box until she gets a handful. Yogurt!!! OMG!!!! One time I was sitting there having a yogurt while sitting on the couch. Frigga was right there, panting, drooling, whining; talking; etc. She finally gave up and ran into the kitchen and pulled a roll of papertowels down to get my attention. She was sitting in the doorway with the roll in her mouth, taunting me. So, I set the yogurt down on the coffee table and pry the papertowels out of her mouth. She then went for the yogurt cup and took off with it. I was left standing there looking like the family idiot!!! I just started laughing...She won that one. She is like this with carrots; broccoli; peas (fresh, frozen); Snow Peas (never mind she tore up 10 of these plants); Celery; jam, when left at the edge of the counter (same with peanut butter) where she can pull it over; lettuce; cabbage; herbs (OMG!!! She LOVES Basil.....); berries or berry plants.....I thought we had the market on this.....

Bella will beg for yogurt. I give her the container when I'm done with them and she cleans them for me. My "fav" thing she likes is hot sauce... When Bella was about a year old I decided to get some hot wings and she had been begging since I got them in the house. Thought I'd be smart and give her a taste of the hot sauce and not have to deal with it anymore, what a mistake. She licked my finger clean and tried to snitch the wings from me. It was worse then if I had just ignored her. Now anytime I make anything spicy she gets a taste.

Found a new one last night... Corn on the cob. He was begging last night, so after I finished it, I held it out for him to sniff. Well, he started to nibble it just like he knew what he was doing!

Bananas in our house. Or any type of berry. Tika loves strawberrries in particular.
Our old cat Loki used to gobble up any chickpeas I ever dropped on the floor. It made us laugh so much we would just feed him 2-3 whenever I was cooking them. He also loved tofu. Weirdest cat ever.

Ami thinks I'm trying to poison him with bananas
Jen - hubby was asking last night if it was ok to give Ami some corn on the cob! This boy is a sucker for butter so I imagine he'd really like the corn!

Koda usually loves bananas! Sometimes though he just isnt in the mood. So one day I was about to jump in the shower and i was finishing up a banana and i threw probably half of it to koda. I went in the bathroom he went in the bedroom. A few hours later I was crawling into bed, he burried the banana in my pillow. Had banana all over my neck lol!

Ha ha! He was saving it for later! Dizzy likes to hide things. If I don't watch him closely he rubs the fur off his nose trying to 'air' cover things up with the carpet!

Is it a normal thing for a husky to like to make that burying motion with their nose in water and snow? Whenever our puppy gets near any water (or snow) she likes to push it with her nose like she is trying to bury something. She usually gets water up her nose and starts sneezing. It is cute but seems kind of weird.

Welcome to the forum, my girl does that as well as with dirt and mud. I guess she's not a very good burying dog, it drives her crazy that she just moves the bone and doesn't bury it. lol So yes pretty normal, but funny.
Miya doesn't eat weird stuff, but tonight we watched a video of a guy playing "Royals" on his trombone calling his cows, and Miya woke from a shrimp mode sound sleep and just sat there enjoying it. Way too funny. Then she went back to sleep.

My boy uses his nose almost as effectively as I do my hand He fluffs up leaves over bones, his blanket over bones and toys, dirt, snow in winter, water in his pool...the couch cushions if I don't catch him before he gets in the living areas...Guess they're just excavators at heart!
