OK, finally got to go on a short run this morning. I wanted to get photos of her bikejoring with Darren but by the time we got to taking pictures it was getting hotter and Layla was tired, so we packed it in. Darren was nice enough to get photos of me and Layla with the Springer. Just from the couple short runs we've been on, I can tell this is definitely Layla's Husky Hobby, and I can't wait to go on longer runs with her when it's cooler!

So, which should I submit?

Liz - the bottom one, while not as close up, is much clearer - maybe you can crop it?

The jury is still out on Ami and the walky dog - but it was warm when I tried it. I'm thinking its going to have be in the 40's, at most, for Ami to really enjoy it Razz

Seems like the bottom photo's going to be the one to go with. I did crop it a little so it appears closer. Fingers crossed it's a winner, haha.

Biking with Layla is really fun -- it's just too bad we can only go very short distances for now, A, because of the heat and, B, we have to start slow to build her endurance. It appears as though her growth plates are likely closed at this point (she doesn't have the little "bumps" on her forelegs anymore and the front legs are flat) so we'll be ready to start serious training once it cools down in another month or so. Smile

Liz, I understand heat it's been over 100 everyday this week. I've been researching on here as to what we will be doing this fall, like your biking idea, may start to do some serious hiking as well.

Renee when most people use an ATV with huskies that is not how they do it. Wink

Elise, she loves that damn thing, and she does ride on it of course slow speeds, she sometimes runs ahead if she doesn't feel like riding, lol, it is funny. We bought a jeep so we're calling it 4 wheeler so we can sell hers, we tell her get on the 4wheeler and up she goes. Seriously she naps on it. I know I have a strange husky, hahahahaha. Although I have to ask how do most people use their ATV'S with their huskies? Question

Mushers often use ATVs for training their dogs in the early part of the sledding season. They hook the team (usually 6 or more dogs) up to the front of the ATV and put it in neutral and the dogs pull. Or they can help them out a little by putting it in gear. Helps build strength and endurance. Smile

Thanks Liz, would have never thought that. Mushers and the like are geniuses. She likes to run, ha, what husky doesn't, and she will run beside us after a long day walking around 400 acres of rough terrain.

I don't know... I doubt it, but I have so many goofy pix of the two of them and they are like two dogs/one brain...

I love it when she prepares for the "double five" she just gives me this goofy look and I giggle every time. I just wanted to see if she would do it with the ball in her mouth.
