2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Kai's first vet visit ! Empty
PostSubject: Kai's first vet visit !   Kai's first vet visit ! EmptyTue Jul 29, 2014 3:19 pm

Woo so today was the first vet visit with us. It was a little eventful lol Razz

Well, considering Kai is only 10 weeks old he has never really been around any dogs beside his litter. When we walked into the reception there was a big black labrador at the desk with its owner and was very excited to see Kai, but Kai wasnt thrilled haha. He was a little scared but then the labrador lunged and let out a loud bark andKai screamed and pee'd on the floor and tried to run away.He had never pee'd like that before so it was a shock.
The man kindly apologised and took his dog out and we took Kai over to the seats and I put him on my lap.

Now,at the seats there was a boxer laying down panting and it just stared at Kai the whole time and for the first time we heard Kai growl ! It wasnt an aggressive growl more like a scared low growl but we were like woah ! He only did it twice and then the man with the boxer went away into one of the rooms.

Que a little shih-tzu/king charles cross. The guy sat beside us and Kai was a little wary of his dog but nothing too bad.We were there for a while and the little dog was beside me and I was rubbing her and she was up on my leg so Kai kinda got used to her, then a breakthrough ! They went nose to nose and I had to hold my breath but Kai just started to lick her Razz He then became really friendly with her, tail wagging and jumped off my lap to play and lick her.

Im glad that he made a little friend there because before he did I was worried he would become wary of other dogs, which I obviously didnt want.

In the end some other dogs came out of the rooms and Kai wanted to go over to say hi. I never got the guys name but Im glad he was there with his dog, it was so well behaved and friendly and it pretty much showed Kai that dogs are good.

Thats it ! His first vet visit was frightening at first but he was fine after playing with another little dog  jocolor
He'll be getting his final shot in 2 weeks and I'm so excited to finally be able to walk him and take him to puppy classes  Very Happy

Oh and he weighs 13.6 pounds at 10 and a bit weeks. Is this weight normal ? I think he looks a little on the skinny side but the vet never even commented on his weight so I assume its normal
