| I'm so happy to hear that Charlotte. Give him time to adjust. You may have to play around with the food to see what works best for Enzo, like Amy said. Although I've been quite happy with TOTW. The pumpkin is a good add in, firms up when soft, and loosens up when too firm. The antler/bones will help with firming up also. And please keep us posted when you can. Renee |

Renee He pooped a lot in these two days, I am not sure if it's because I gave him too much food. I will try to give him a little less tonight and see how it goes, but putting some wet food in really helped getting his appetite back! I just hope his stool will firm up soon because it still looks very soft to me. May I ask how much pumpkin I should put into his food? Here's a picture of Enzo and Leo! |

| I give Miya about 3 tablespoons, 3 times a week, I'm sure if you gave a little more it would be fine and it's pure pumpkin right? I'm guessing too much food, if you're giving can and dry you have to adjust, read packages, it will give how much, Miya has never been a big can food eater, the only kind she did like was duck and it was liquid poo when she ate it, figured duck was too rich. It's difficult to understand huskies bellies. What a beautiful picture of the guys, they look happy and tired. Are they about the same age? My girl got to play with our neighbor's husky last night for about an hour and she slept like a baby. She is currently protecting her bone from my cat, the cat will not eat it, and Miya is not in the mood to eat it, but she's laying next to it just in case the evil cat steals it, lol. |

| It didn't label pumpkin pie mixing on the can, but just organic pumpkin, I am hoping that it's pure pumpkin because that's the only pumpkin they've got at the grocery store! I found this wellness core can food, I only mixed in one tablespoon of the can food into his dry food. I probably put in too much dry food. I guess I need some more time to understand his stomach! Yes, Leo is about 8 months old and Enzo is 6 months old! Sometimes, they would get too serious because Enzo is acting like a big boy lately when he's around Leo and some other male dogs. He's now sleeping like a baby every night because of the fun he got during day time!!! |

| I'm guessing too much dry also, you got the right pumpkin. We took a long walk tonight, the temp dropped from 98 to 68, I had to have a jacket and Miya loved it, everything smelled glorious with the rain we had, refreshed. Saw a deer, so I got to practice stay and recall, I think it will be a forever challenge of those 2 commands but she did what I asked. |

| I just reduced the amount of dry food tonight and he seems so hungry! I guess it's because I mixed in the wet food and it smelt great! No more loss of appetite! We will go for a walk later, hopefully, the weather will be cooler during the evening. He tried to escape twice when I open the front door, but then, he slowly learnt how to stay when I said stay, phewwww, we still have a long way to go! |

| Consistency is the key, when I go to the front door I use the "sit" then "wait" commands if she is going with me, if she is not, like if I go check the mail, I tell her to stay. Seems to work 95 % of the time, that way i have the control and she can't dart out. You will be surprised at how many commands he will learn, again it's consistency. |

| Lucky you, that's one trick I couldn't teach. They are scary smart. Taught Miya to shake in about 15 minutes and a few treats, husband couldn't believe it. Keep up the great work, how's his tummy doing? |

| He is always good with the tricks when there's tasty treats in front of him! I think his tummy is getting better, but his poo is still kind of soft I guess I will continue on giving him pumpkin until next week! And today, he peed at my neighbor's house!!! Made me very angry! I don't understand how he couldn't hold it! He knows he should only pee outside.... |

| He's still young, know the signs, sometimes it happens, after lots of play, after a nap, he may have been testing you. I don't think boys can hold it as well as girls either. I have the opposite problem, I think she holds it for too long, ugg the bliss of owning a husky, so challenging. |

| It's a quite a challenge for me because I am living by myself and I am a student. But I will overcome the challenge later for sure! I have to put Enzo in crate this morning because I have to go to school early, I bet he's going to cry like there's no tomorrow!!! I rather he holds it instead of just peeing it out. lol |

| He's just a baby still, it can get frustrating for sure. I've been by myself since the wee hours of Sunday morning, husband had to go out of state for a week for work. Miya has been good until last night. She does everything on his schedule which is go potty and then bedtime at 10 p.m. I take her out in the pouring rain and nope don't want to go. We go back inside, I tend to stay up until 1a.m. or so, My husband has a horrible habit of telling her on her before bed potty, "let's get the armadillo", the rain had stopped and I told her that and out she goes and does her potty. Uggg, husband and I will have a chat about this, since he goes out of state once or twice a year for about a week at a time. |

| Enzo is doing better and better everyday now!!! I am feeding him Taste Of The Wild and with some pumpkin and wet food in it, so he will have the appetite to finish the the whole thing. Last night, I have to go out, so instead of crating him, I let him out in the house. (I wanted to trust him and I took him out before leaving the house) I was gone for about 4-5 hours, he didn't do any bad things at all, such a good boy! I wasn't sure if he peed or not because if he really did pee, the pee could've dried out. I was so happy and I praised him a lot! I think if I praise him harder when he did good things, he would obey more and challenge me less. lol Today, I was thinking about taking him out to pee and poo three - four times a day and let him get use to the routine. |

| Happy to hear things are better. Routine and consistency is key. My neighbor has a husky and has no idea why he tries and escapes. Told her a tired husky is a well behaved husky. lol she just doesn't understand. Test the 4 times, again boys pee more frequently. I'm glad there was no destruction. I haven't called Miya, Hurricane Miya, in a long time, although at almost 7 months she was not to be trusted, so you are doing great. Miya is a praise junkie, lol, it makes her happy when I'm happy, and dances around. They can be so funny, and I believe it does make them less challenging, because they know you are a team.
Good food set up, Miya has decided she doesn't like the fish kind of the Taste Of The Wild, I still have to buy 5 pound bags for her. She can be so picky. Have you been able to find any bones for Enzo? |

| He just peed inside the house again! I haven't find any bones for Enzo yet, I just got him that antler from pet store. Whenever I leave the house, no matter how long, he just pees right away. Does Miya drinks a lot of water? |

| Hey Charlotte,
No she doesn't drink a lot of water, drives me nuts, because she doesn't, and wished she did. Miya wasn't a hundred percent potty trained at 6 months, probably more like 8 or 9, where she could hold it say overnight. I'm sure you're taking him out before you leave, so he may be mad at you for leaving. Are you crating him at all? I can't remember if you crate trained him, that may be a solution, it will or should prevent him from going, and teach him to hold it, since he shouldn't want to go where he lays.
Is it in the same spot, if so you have to really clean it up good, so he can't smell it, so he doesn't think it's ok since he did it before. A couple of things to work on is praise, tell him good boy every time he goes outside, I still do it with Miya. You can reinforce the "good boy" with a small treat. If you catch him in the act take him out immediately to finish, you can give him the verbal cue of "that's Bad" or "No", I'm not a punisher, I don't believe in rubbing his nose in it, or spanking. You can try and use the verbal cue "mine". Example - "No Enzo that's mine".
I have used that example here on another thread. My husband goes to bed around 10 pm, he tells Miya it's bed time. She goes to her bed and lays down, her bed is on his side next to our bedroom door. I stay up later, and she likes sitting with me. She got up and he told her again it was bedtime. She didn't like that, but stayed. I kept hearing her moving, thinking she is giving herself a bath. It's a long bath, so I go over to investigate and she ate the door frame, from the floor up to about 2 to 3 feet up. My husband is sound asleep, so I can't yell, I'm pretty angry. I point to her mess and told her "NO Miya that's Mine", firmly and very quietly. She has never messed with it again. I use that for anything she may destroy including our cat and bed. So far so good.
He does seem like he has separation anxiety and he is acting out. However, he is still a baby, so you have to be firm and know mistakes are going to happen. There are many threads under training, about potty training to get more ideas, read them as well and see if others had similar problems.
They love to test you, but once they grow up they are so great and loving, you will forget about all of this, and you'll be so happy with a great companion. Keep me up to date on your progress, he's such a beautiful little boy. Renee |

| Hahaha, I did crate trained him, but he doesn't really like his crate and he got used to walking and sleeping around the house. I just put him into his crate today before leaving, it's sad that I have to ignore his crying. By the time I got home, I take him out to potty right away and praised him. He's doing fine with his food and his poop is good too I guess it's because of the hot weather, he doesn't really want to finish everything. Sometimes, he only eats half of the bowl. I just bought some stain remover, and trying to remove the stains and smell from the carpet, I hope it would work! He peed in a several spot before when he was upset, but when he couldn't hold it and really needs to pee, he would go near the door and just pee or poop there. So I guess I have to take him out more often. |

| Got a tip for you from another thread, not sure if you read any or all, lol. Anyway, she mentioned that pups go according to age, example 2 months old every 2 hours, 3 months every 3 hours and so on. By age 8 months 8 hours. Enzo isn't quite 7 months, so every 6 or 7 hours.
I don't know if that helps. Also with his crate, try putting a sheet over top, if you don't already, it may give him a safer feel. During the day Miya sticks her head under the couch, they like to den, maybe that will quiet him a little. The heat will slow them down on food, Miya will go one day a week where she may only eat a bone, as long as he eats something he's fine.
Take care, Renee |

| I eventually took him to the vet and did a stool examination. Enzo did have bacteria in his stomach!!! After all the medication, he's now soooooo much better!!! Now I am just wondering how much food I should feed him per day? He just turned 7 months and weight about 40 lbs, I am feeing him one full cup of kibble and mixed in the veterinary diets wet food given by the vet, twice a day. |

| I believe he's at a good weight. Is your vet holistic? or did vet give you canned food? What brand? Just wondering, did vet suggest the amount of kibble along wet twice a day? If so then I think you're fine, depends really on the wet. You are not talking about raw? let me know. Glad you got his tummy problems fixed, it may affect his peeing problems. |

| Not raw, not raw. My vet did mentioned about three times a day with the canned food. It's purina which I don't really like. However, I have already slowly transform Enzo's food back to the normal kibble, taste of the wild because I think all of his bacteria are gone!!! His poo is looking very normal in the last two days! SO HAPPY FOR US!!! We just got back from the grooming place, and he's so fluffy!!! |

| Errr, purina. I hope at least it was the propac, or whatever they call it. Good glad to hear everything is going well. Any new pics to share? Once you're off the wet, look at bag they give amounts to feed. |
