| So when i got my Thor he was 3 years old and we were his fourth owners. Needless to say, he had severe separation anxiety combined with his husky interest in destroying things. If we left him uncrated our house would be destroyed and there would be pee and poop all over. We started crating him for his safety, and when we got our second dog we began crating her as well even though she can be trusted alone. Fast forward a year and a half. We thought it was time to see if our dogs could be trusted alone outsides of their crates. After a little bit of dog proofing (hiding the garbage, putting away the dishes, etc), we decided to test this theory. We started of with an hour or two and worked our way up to the full day and they have both done great! nothing destroyed.
So the other day we decide to go to the movies and leave them out. And we wanted to setup a camera to record what they did all day. And our husky literally stared outside the living room windows for HOURS. he just stood there. eventually would sit down, and then stand back up. and for hours would just wait for us to get home. So i watched this and it was heartbreaking for me. the poor guy! Needless to say - i need to be home more!
I just thought i would share this little tidbit. i am super happy that he knows he is home. he has come out of his shell so much, he knows that we aren't going to leave him, he knows we will always come home. But even though he isn't all about pets and cuddles when home you can tell he loves us and wants us around. Does anyone elses pup do this? |

| camber does the same thing. he knows exactly when im getting ready leave and he pouts, and if someone is nome to watch him and es not going to get locked up, he follows me to the front door and looks so sad and it breaks my heart. hell try an take my backpack off me when he knows im going to school too. and when i get home from being gone for a while he always cuddles up to me, even though he really normally doesnt like cuddles either. |
