On Memorial Day weekend, we stayed with friends at Arch Cape- took a long walk in the hills above the beach.
The next day, we walked seven miles on the beach between low and high tides.
Most years, beach walking is limited by the tide at headlands.
This year, lots of sand is on the beach and we could walk around the points.
Lots of dogs off leash on the beach, which is no problem most of the time.
I wish Bodhi could go off leash.
Walking back to the house, we passed a couple loading up their car to go home.
They had an unleashed GSD that took off like a shot at Bodhi as soon as he saw him.
Ears flattened, coming in low and fast like a torpedo.
I just sensed this wasn't a playful greeting.
Of course, Bodhi is doing his usual bouncing up in the air, "Let's have fun!" leap.
My friend, who doesn't have a dog, yelled, "Control your dog."
They yelled; the GSD swerved and returned to them.
The woman owner said, incredulous, "Doesn't your dog like to play?"
Walking away, shaking our heads, my friend said, "You don't have to say anything."
