It's a very interesting concept for sure and looks like it could be handy in a pinch. It would almost tempt me to let Yukon off leash more often if I can know where he is at all times... Although I wonder how "breakable" these things really are and battery life over and extended period of time could be a concern too... Still might preorder one though if the card wont be charged until 2015.

Yeah I just preodered one; the $1 down is probably just a holding fee thingy (Amazon does it a lot) that will be deducted from the total cost when everything is said and done. :o

I preorderd 3. I figure $150 for 3 GPS collars, you can't beat that. For an extra TAGG collar it's $100 alone. No thank you.

This is interesting. I wonder how it works in remote locations where cell service is bad or non-existent. That's the prime situation that I would want one for is for when we are up North in the woods for if he took off.

Thats a good concern. I didnt think of that. That might be a problem for some people.

You can still get it for free if you refer 5 people. They bumbed up the referal price to $20 per person. It was $10 when i signed up.
