| Hey everyone! I was a member of this board previously but after we lost our beautiful Mia, I kinda stayed away. Then when I went to post this morning, it said my account wasn't active so I assume it was removed for in activity. Anyway, back in 2010 my husband I brought our first Siberian Husky home, the beautiful Mia. We had the privilege of having Mia in our home for about 6 months. She unfortunately passed away after her spay surgery. She made it through surgery okay but passed away during recovery. It was heartbreaking. I had never, ever heard of a dog dying after being spayed but I knew it was possible. Worst part is, I had a gut feeling that something wasn't right when I left her there but chalked it up to being a worried puppy Mom. We contacted the breeders to let them know that the vet told us that she had an enlarged heart, which was possibly genetic, and a blood clot. The breeders felt terrible and told us that we could have a free puppy out of the next litter if we were up to it. They even took their adult dogs to the vet after and had a full workup done to check on the enlarged heart issue. The vet didn't find anything wrong, thankfully. We thought we would not be up to it but we went to look at them anyway about 8 months later. We fell in love with one and brought her home a few weeks later. We named her Kita. Then the breeders posted that they had two puppies left and because of city restrictions, if they didn't find homes very soon, they'd have to go to the shelter. My husband I went to look at the two left and well, we fell in love again. A week or so later, we brought home our second baby. We named her Nala after Nala and Kita would wrestle and Nala pinned Kita like Nala pinned Simba in the Lion King. They are from the same litter but man are there personalities different. Kita - drama queen, stubborn, tests us a lot, and doesn't really like to cuddle a lot, pretty much always sassy Nala - sweetheart, loves to cuddle ALL THE TIME, sassy at times but a big old baby That's our story! We just had a baby (5 weeks old) and they are adjusting nicely to not being the center of our world. Here's my husband holding the baby and them staring very intently: |

| Hi there and welcome. I'm sorry to hear about Mia passing away. It must have been very hard to go through, and very unexpected.
The picture with your husband and the rest of your family is absolutely beautiful. |
