| Like the title says Luna turned 9 weeks and was wondering what I should be training earner at this age. I'm potty training with pads and taking her out every time after play and eating. I've taught her to sit(sometimes). I don't want to overwhelm her, but what would be wise to teach her next and by what methods
Stay, come, look, lay? Best methods of teaching these?
Also she's a little mouthy/nippy.. Giving her one warning and replace hand with toy, second warning turn away, third timeout in hallway(should these methods produce results?
Haven't really started crate training yet, letting her get used to the crate first. Also Any tips on crate training ?
Should I wait for paw and other commands till she gets the basics?
Thanks!! |

| We took a puppy class for our girl starting at 10.5 weeks. Trainer started with something he called a "by heel". Basically just making the pup come over and sit by your left leg. Other then that I think basics would probably be best (sit, lay down, stay, come and try starting walking a bit on a loose leash).
Crate training for us, worked great. Just lots of treats and praise for going in the crate. Even let her eat meals in it once or twice a day. We also give her a puppy vitamin every night right before we go to sleep and she now runs straight to her crate and lays down when we go to the bedroom at night.
As for the nipping, the only thing that really worked for us was Bitter Apple spray. We diluted it with a 50/50 mix of water since the full stuff really made her freak out.
I started to work on Paw one day but seemed to be a bit much when its hard getting her to be still enough sometimes. I will probably try to work on it again in a couple weeks. |

| That's what I'm focusing on with my little guy. Sit, Stay and Lie Down. We take him in the yard on a leash sometimes to get him used to it.
What do you use the puppy vitamins for? - We're still trying to get Hanzel used to the crate. He goes in it willingly when it isn't closed but he cries like a mad man when he gets the gate closed. I let him sleep with me right now because I don't want to disturb the other people connected to my apartment complex. During the day though he can't be out because I don't want him to get into anything. |

| No real reason in particular for the vitamin, just an extra supplement to her diet to get some extra nutrients that might not be in her raw food. I think we got really lucky with crate training though. She already seemed to like it from the day we got her(well the second day we got her-first night she was pretty whiny). |

| I would start with potty training and crate training. The trick with crate training is not letting them out even if they cry at night. They eventually will get used to it! My mal loves her's still and she is 3 years old now!
Then move into the basics like sit, stay, come, lay down |

| She has her toys in the crate and I praised her and give treats any time she goes in it. I closed the gate for first time today and she played for five min before realizing it was shut. She didn't cry, but rather just jumped up on crate wall. Should I slowly increase time she's in it during day before I try it during the night? |

| My little girl is 12 weeks now and I've been working with her for 3 solid weeks. We've worked on, Sit/Stay/Lie Down/"Pee-Pee" to ring her bell to go outside/ bath time/ Meal time (she goes and sits next to her bowl). And of course she knows to come when I call her, although as I've previously mentioned, that doesn't work everytime as I'd like it to, she seems to do it about 8 times out of 10. I've personally strayed away from crate training as I have a full extra room that I've dedicated to her, I never go on trips that would require her crating, and since she's been doing so well with potty training. I just leave her during my work hours, she has a few bowls of water, toys and treats. I come home every 2 hours (since I work so close by) to let her out to pee or poop if she has to. But I'd definitely recommend crating if you don't have any spare room to quarantine her from the rest of the house. |

| She was doing ok last week with the pads, but no she kind of just does her business wherever she pleases.. Even 5 min after taking her out.. I pick her up and take her outside or put on pad when I catch her. Any other potty training suggestions, cause I've been cleaning up a wholleeee lot of pee in the last few days.
(Take her out every hour) |

| I would skip the pee pads all together its kind of an unnecessary step for her to get used to cause then you still need to teach her to go outside after that. Crate her when you are not around but make it small enough that she doesn't have room to use it as a bathroom as well. When she goes to the bathroom outside, make it the most exciting thing that has ever happened to her. Give her treats, and so much praise that she gets that going outside is right, you have to do it right after she goes or else she won't get the association. When inside tether her to your leg if you need to or close off certain rooms to her so you can always see what she is doing. Learn her signs about when she needs to go to the bathroom and take her out immediately. It takes quite a bit of time for it to be perfect and there will be accidents but once you learn her signs it becomes much easier to anticipate.
As far as other training, I agree with everyone above the general sit, lay, etc are great. One thing that I wish that I had focused on more when they were smaller was when I stop while outside they should sit next to you. It will make your life a lot easier at some point if you can get them to do that then try to teach them later on. Also ignore if she jumps on you or anyone, and once she gets her shots social her as much as you can with people, dogs, and other animals. We have no places to do that around here so my dogs tend to be very skittish of new people and its not something that you want to deal with if you can help it! |

| Any tips on leash training ? She doesn't really like to walk, plops down and won't move. Also bites leash and kinda just fights me if I try to walk a certain way |
